The Australia BOM has declared a positive Indian Ocean Dipole underway. The +IOD should remain weak and persist into December or January. The combination of #ElNino & +IOD should be good for the NE monsoon in S #India, but can result in dryness concerns in portions of #Australia.

An insomniac Richard Nixon came to the same spot at 2.00 a.m. on May 9, 1970 to speak with a gaggle of Vietnam war protesters. He was near the end of his Presidency. This Trump appearance has a similar fin de regime feeling.

Thank you Sandra @goatvet for everything you’ve done for Aussie goat producers.
So very sad to hear of Dr Baxendell’s passing via FB today. 😔 She was one of the few people who goat producers knew we could trust implicitly her veterinary knowledge about our animals. 🐐🐐

Severe deforestation has led to all Gibbons being endangered. These incredible primates are known for their loud singing through the rainforest, but these melodies have mostly disappeared. 🌳🎶❌
Most species remain in small forest patches, with poaching also threatening. 🥲🐒

Baby elephants don’t get much cuter than Comet. Born just last week, she is fresh from the womb but already walking around and doing what infant elephants are wont to do: sticking by Mum and figuring out how everything works.
