⭕️ “The final fatal blow to international criminal justice” — Palestinian human rights groups condemn ICC sanctions Three of the oldest Palestinian human rights organizations — Al-Haq, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, and Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, all of which have themselves been sanctioned by the US — issued a joint statement Friday condemning Washington’s decision to sanction the International Criminal Court as an act of “impunity on a global scale.” “The sanctions imposed on the Court do not occur in a vacuum — they are the logical culmination of decades of US policy aimed at shielding Israel from accountability for its ongoing and escalating violations of international law, from which the US continues to profit,” the groups said. The statement called on ICC member states to resist US pressure, uphold their treaty obligations, and refuse to allow the court’s mandate to be dismantled by a state that has itself never joined it. The groups warned that allowing the US to cripple the ICC without consequence would render the entire international justice system meaningless.
