I agree with your theory completely, SP. You really have your thumb on the pulse with this one. Great job! I don't buy the official narrative for a second. There is no way Kelly Krauskopf planned and told staff before the regular season ended; she would be stepping down, that was purely a face-saving move. Her goodbye monologue didn't even sound like her—it felt entirely written by Herb Simon. If she were actually preparing to step down on her own terms, she would have written it herself. I believe Herb gave Kelly an ultimatum to fire Amber Cox, Kelly refused, and Herb responded with, "I'll take your resignation then." The timeline of what happened next on Friday, October 23rd says it all. Kelly resigned in the morning, and just hours later, The Athletic dropped that investigative "hit piece" by Annie Costabile and Brian Hamilton, which seemed designed to paint our entire fanbase with a very negative and unfair broad brush. In that article, Amber Cox explicitly outlined her big post-playoff plan, saying: "Once we get through the (WNBA) Finals, we will very aggressively start reaching out, asking to have these conversations. My hope is players will come to the table, and if they have had experiences that we don't know about, they will share those. We want to hear them." That quote proves Amber fully expected to stick around and lead this massive league-wide conversation. Kelly likely would have been right there with her, since they always did everything together. Instead, within four hours of that article hitting the internet, Herb Simon fired Amber "effective immediately." He didn't even give her time to clean out her office at a normal pace, let alone host a summit with the players' union. The clean slate is coming. I truly believe the new GM is going to bring in their own staff and clear out Stephanie White, along with all the extras working alongside her—including the medical and training staff. Everyone should be on the chopping block except for Caitlin’s trainer, Rob Dosier. If you look closely, Rob was the only staff member included in Caitlin’s end-of-season October photo dump. That is some serious Taylor Swift-level Easter egg hinting right there! Rob originally stepped in to lead Caitlin's intensive workouts after the primary development coach, Keith Porter, ruptured his Achilles. Players constantly seemed to be getting hurt on Keith's watch, and I'll be thrilled when he is officially gone. Even after Keith healed, Caitlin stuck with Rob; you never saw her training with Keith anymore, and it showed. This franchise desperately needs an identity and a clear hierarchy built around Caitlin Clark, and we all know she is at the top of that player hierarchy. I have high hopes that the best is yet to come. The new front office needs to let Stephanie and her entire staff gracefully bow out, no drama needed, while Lin Dunn is left on the shelf like a decorative knick-knack—hopefully no longer gossiping to YouTube sports creators that Caitlin is a "diva" or a "brat." That drama has to stop. If there are any further malicious leaks like that, then Lin Dunn can hit the road too. Excellent write-up, SP. I think your conclusions are absolutely spot on! 🙌👏👏✨️👍😊💛

🚨 OH, THIS JUST GOT A LOT WORSE. Earlier today, I exposed a $54 resale ticket for Thursday's WNBA Finals Game 6. Tonight? I found seats listed for $29.60. Just $43 after fees and taxes. TWENTY-NINE DOLLARS AND SIXTY CENTS. For a potential CHAMPIONSHIP-CLINCHING GAME. The WNBA and Atlanta Dream have managed to turn the biggest basketball event of their season into a Thursday afternoon clearance sale. Imagine the level of organizational incompetence required to make your league's championship game look like an event people are desperately trying to unload tickets to attend. 12:30 PM on a workday. Bargain-bin ticket prices. A championship reduced to a lunchtime sideshow. At this point, the WNBA doesn't need critics to embarrass it. Its leadership is doing a spectacular job all by itself.
Here we go again. FIFTY-FOUR DOLLARS. That's the underlying resale ticket price for a seat at Thursday's 12:30 PM WNBA Finals game between Golden State and Atlanta. Another $24 in fees and taxes brings the buyer's total to $78. For a game that could decide a professional basketball championship. The WNBA and Atlanta Dream have somehow managed to turn their biggest event of the season into a Thursday lunch special. Imagine being so spectacularly incompetent at managing your own product that a potential championship-clinching game becomes a bargain-bin matinee. And the league wonders why people question its leadership. You couldn't sabotage your own championship any more effectively if you tried.

I’m not sure I want to watch a Fever team all season that’s built to win in a slogfest Finals like this. Mad respect to both Atlanta and the Valks, and if the Valks pull this off it’s absolutely historic. Honestly, it’s historic where they are already and I think it warrants a deeper dive into the whole Big 3 of Big 2 is needed theories. That being said, this is ugly basketball that is not fun at all to watch. It’s not a good product, although they are good players. It’s a get down in the mud, ugly ball.

People Don't Understand How Much Of A Feat It Was For Caitlin Clark To Make First Team All-WNBA. Aside From Being guarded Like Fort Knox, She Led The League In Assist. Meaning She Constantly Had To Focus On Getting Other Fever Players Involved. Simultaneously She Was The Least Assisted Player In The League. Meaning her Fever Teammates Rarely Pass Her The Ball when She's Open Or Look To Get Her Going. She Got Most Of Her Bucket Out Of The Mud. Her Backcourt Mate Had 9 Assist To Her In 1000 Minutes On The Court Together This Season. That's An Assist Every 4 Games From Your Backcourt Mate. Salute Caitlin Clark. I Have Been Hard On Her Lately For Being A Door Mat But This Accomplishment Is Truly Impressive.😎 aknationnews.com/functions/c…

You can tell Annie Constabile is related to the hating players and is also a hatelin bcuz she does like those moronic players do. She lies and is always coming up with one of those "a source told me this" or "a source said blah blah blah about the Fever fans" but "NEVER" has any written statements, video recordings or any type of evidence to prove what's coming out of her conniving fraudulent mouth. We all know she's spineless bcuz all the things Ken Swift brought up here and not once did we hear her report about any of those racial incidents elsewhere bcuz she's a click baiter and must be doing bad financially bcuz her reporting is so bottom of the barrel it garners zero attention. Think she got her journalism degree at Temu.com. Atp she needs to just write stories for the enquirer

Fyi @TheBenDanielPod @SportsPatriotUS 👇 all Caitlin hit pieces are free for the public to read while most other @TheAthletic articles are behind paywall. Real journalists investigate and challenge teams and leagues, not shill for insular ideologues.
One thing I've noticed that is legit hilarious... Pretty much every Athletic article is behind a paywall... However they make every Fever/Caitlin hit piece free to read...

Hi @AnnieCostabile thanks for helping me see what journalism is. From a WNBA fan, I’m wondering if we’ll ever get a follow-up investigation into how the WNBA MVP wasn’t ejected nor suspended in the playoffs for confronting a fan in the stands, when the rule book clearly states players “will be automatically ejected” for doing so. Also, is it possible to get a story following up with all the Indiana Fever fans who have been falsely accused of fan misconduct at Gainbridge? I am not a journalist but I’d think that this has happened enough times that it may merit some conversations with them? As for today’s story, I did call it a hit piece against the Fever. I didn’t see any of the commentary from current and former WNBA players who responded to Kelsey Mitchell’s comments by telling her to ignore the DMs from trolls/bots and celebrate all the opportunities that come with playing alongside Caitlin Clark. But I guess those perspectives are less important than unnamed sources. The article is written in a way to imply that free agents who sign with the Fever would be selling out for money / top-tier facilities. When has a professional men’s team ever been positioned this way going into free agency? Of all people in this ecosystem, I’d hope that it would be journalists who can see that so much of this noise is due to bots/trolls and not the actual humans who are Indiana Fever fans. Those trolls/bots crave attention, but I suppose @TheAthletic and @nytimes do as well.

🚨 THE FIRST DOMINO HAS FALLEN. Kelly Krauskopf is stepping down as Indiana Fever president. GOOD. NOW FINISH THE JOB. Amber Cox. Stephanie White. Lin Dunn. The entire basketball operation needs a complete overhaul. Caitlin Clark deserves a franchise obsessed with WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS, not protecting a failed basketball philosophy. BURN IT TO THE GROUND!
Kelly Krauskopf will step down as team president, closing an extraordinary chapter in a career of nearly three decades with PS&E in which she built the Fever from its founding, delivered the franchise’s first WNBA championship, and helped open doors for women across professional basketball. If anyone wants to know the difference between game #1 and games 2&3 just look at the Free Throw Attempts. Game 1 Atlanta had 5 more attempts. Game 2 Atlanta had 16 more attempts. Game 3 Atlanta had 12 more attempts. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. THESE GAMES ARE BEING RIGGED.

The Indiana Fever is the only team in history who's lost of players they've waived or salary dumped over the past 5 years is better than the list of players they've signed in that period.. Engstler, Smith, Caldwell x2, Pissott, Allemand, Sims are all players they've just let go
