Yes. As others have pointed out, the border with Afghanistan is a bit tricky. I’m not a TV watcher or a series binger but one show I watched with some interest recently, The Old Man, was an Afghanistan-set updated version of the incomparable Apocalypse Now, wrestling with ideas of identity and loyalty while blowing everyone & everything to smithereens. At first I thought the Old Man was the spook / special forces killer type whose highly placed adopted daughter turns out to be the fruit of the anti-Soviet Afghan warlord’s pregnant wife, who left with him for America, back in the day. The real Old Man turns out to be the warlord. And the daughter raised as an American goes back there & ends up succeeding her father in his stronghold. As Shakespeare said more succinctly than I am able to: what a tangled web we weave. #No_Iran_War
