It's good to be the king...carbon footprint be damned.
The new @McIlroyRory sponsorship with @DP_World will see the Dubai company transporting two personalised fitness and recovery trailers for Rory.
Mcllroy also becomes a global ambassador for DP World.
Ben is a world-class editor, and human. So thankful we got to be partners-in-crime over the last two years. For anyone needing help in planning and executing every form of digital media, this is your guy.

I also got to work with one of my heroes in @AlanShipnuck. We published a lot of stories that filled up my cup. We won an award for one of them last year, and published one this year that might be the biggest piece I’ve ever been a part of. It’s thousands of words of written copy from world-class reporting and is still probably the most impactful thing we made in my entire tenure. It gives me hope that an awful lot of you still value what it takes to make something like that in our world of Artificial Everything.
I think about Abe Ancer a lot as a guy whose career cratered on LIV. He won a WGC in 2021 and had back-to-back top-10s at the PGA Championship in '21 and '22. He went to LIV in June '22 as the 20th-ranked player in the world...and then vanished. Didn't play a major in '25 or '26

@SethLeibsohn reading “Rory” by Shipnuk. Great line: “The United States is a place. America is an idea.” @AlanShipnuck PERFECT…
I am chuffed!
⛳ RORY - ALAN SHIPNUCK
The triumphs. The heartbreaks. The controversies. The man behind the golfer.
Alan Shipnuck traces Rory McIlroy's journey from a young Northern Irish prodigy to one of the defining figures of modern golf, exploring the career and character of one of the game's most compelling stars.
Rory by Alan Shipnuck is on the William Hill Sports Book of the Year 2026 Longlist. 🏆📚

I came up at SI with @LarsAnderson71. Proud of this mofo for delivering yet another scintialling read.
Played the @GolfPartyMRY with Gary Hallberg. Might be the nicest guy in the whole world and, at 68, still a straight flusher. He spent the back 9 yesterday filming my swing and giving me a playing lesson. He’s my new favorite player, by a mile.

Jack is one of my closest friends - it was an honor to help him tell his story. It’s a beautiful, wrenching book that is ultimately a love story, times two. a.co/d/08tQmNs8

The PIF found $49 million between Yasir’s couch cushions to buy out all of the remaining player contracts. Rahm alone is owed more than double that.
LIV ch 11 petition hits the docket. Here are the top 10 unsecured creditors starting with Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau:

This is all Jon Rahm's fault.
Saudi Arabia has pledged nearly $1 trillion in U.S. investment.
But Saudi itself is under very heavy financial pressure.
Saudi Arabia posted a $9.1 billion budget deficit in Q2, while its oil sector contracted 24.7%. The government is now seeking a $6 billion to $8 billion loan from international banks.
Separately, Saudi Aramco is seeking another $4.7 billion bank loan.
The kingdom entered 2026 already expecting roughly $58 billion in financing needs.
In honor of the new FedEx Cup champ, sending this around again....
Before he was World No. 1, Scottie Scheffler was the sixth man. @AlanShipnuck shares more on the dog in him.

I like the new Tour playoff structure. Don’t love it - do we really need 2 weeks to crown a champion from among only 32 players? But, hey, we’ve been complaining about the points system for decades so at least now we have something bold and different to bitch about!

. @AlanShipnuck compels me quite often to make a coffee and sit down for a long read.
During the first two seasons of LIV, I'm pretty sure I covered more tournaments than any other reporter. I felt compelled to be in Indy to witness the end of an era. My dispatch for @Skratch on a tense season finale and what comes next:
