#Bengaluru probably has the highest density of Indian brain power. This brain power that is solving global challenges could have easily been used for the city urban planing and avoided such #Flooding hazards. This is an example of development that does not synergize with nature
#Bengaluru's Manyata Tech Park has been severely flooded after heavy rainfall, with alarming scenes of submerged vehicles and waterlogged streets Read more toi.in/8Q7xQZ48 #BengaluruRains

I really like this ideas of taking everyday opportunities to step up and perform an action of "micro leadership" to be a great way to define and develop your own personal style youtu.be/CUcWEDxyZKA?si=rbjc… via @YouTube

#Multiwedge approach is needed to #CaptureCarbon for climate.mitigation. This is certainly welcome. However, these technological solutions do not have the same #benefits provided by nature based solutions Think what $550 M can do in restoring #forests freethink.com/energy/direct-…

What a serious #fuckup #unitedairlines India asks us to voluntarily give our confirmed seats in goodwill and promised a smooth transition Fast forward they don't even have our seats booked and we are being left to dry Will #never_trust a employee asking for such a favor.

Happy to share our latest #research on #measuring #resilience, "Establishing #evidence for resilience in #flood-affected communities in the South Asia" published with @SpringerNature in the J. of Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies to Global Change rdcu.be/cQoIK

We identify 2 propositions for increased resilience: Over time, 1) the well-being of the communities should increase, and 2) the magnitude of recovery from shocks should decrease, approaching zero. These propositions are robust to a wide range of shocks & SES.
Check out our publication titled "Forest as Complex Social-Ecological Systems" printed by Springer Nature. This volume presents a collection of cutting-edge research on natural ecosystems and their dynamics through the lens of complex adaptive systems. link.springer.com/book/97830…

Pleased to share our new perspective piece: Forest livelihoods and a “green recovery” from the COVID-19 pandemic: with an excellent team of co-authors @anweshadatta @Alder Keleman Saxena @PatrickJantz and Harry Fischer sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

Pleased to see ou first publication #perspective piece from the research project on "#Forest as a #safetyNet from impacts induced by #COVID-19 pandemic. The article lays out key research priorities and principles for #GreenRecovery:
Hot off the press our new commentary on role of forests as safety net during and post pandemic within the narrative of “green recovery” led by @Alark_Saxena and an excellent team @hfischer_ngn @PatrickJantz & @AKeleSax link: sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

3) Three key research priorities for a “green recovery” from the pandemic – i) change in forest use; ii) shifts in forest cover, structure, and composition; and iii) role of institutions during crises.
1
4) Three principles for recovery – i)manage forests as complex adaptive systems, ii)strengthen feedbacks between ecological and social processes, iii) include equity and rights of indigenous communities
Focusing on system actors, processes and structures, and the scales of the system involved, we provide a framework and methodology to create evidence and evaluate resilience. #resilience #EvidenceBased #Monitoring_evaluation

We recommend two propositions. 1) the wellbeing of the communities should increase, and 2), the magnitude of recovery from shocks by the communities should decrease, approaching zero. #resilience #EvidenceBased #Monitoring_evaluation
