David Jolly came to Sarasota today What a rousing speech ! Thank you for calling out the hard work so many have done in Sarasota to achieve a fairer county despite the 50% Republican /24% Dem /26% NPA registration “……….and every last voter has an opportunity to be a part of choosing a new direction. That's how we're going to win this race.  But I want to tell you something. Y'all have been so good in Sarasota since we started maybe 18 months ago. I think we were in this room over a year ago, some of us together.  And I'll tell you, you know, when you get in over a year ago or so ago, it's a different environment. Y'all know that. We were coming off the 2024 cycle. A lot of folks have left it all on the field, believing the change was here.  We came up short. We were exhausted. We were tired.  But y'all know this. It was Sarasota County that started to show us how to tear down that red wall. It was. I'll tell you why it's going to happen, though. And this is really important. Listen, we got three days left. We're barnstorming the state. This is about a charge to get us over the next three days, because each one of us here have to reach people.  We have to reach people with a closing message. People say, "Why are you running for governor?" And I'll say, housing, health care, education, and no data centers. That's the platform. Folks, but this isn't a moment I believe where we are simply litigating policies and a platform. 🎯We're litigating who we are as a people. Because as a people, we know Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. 🎯We know today that we are a nation that is broken. Our politics are broken because the nation's broken. We're more divided than we've ever been before. We wake up and our leaders tell us if we just keep hating each other a little bit longer, if we just say a little more divided, if we just turn on our neighbors, if we refuse to sit in the same church pew we used to because a Republican got there first or a Democrat got there first, folks are telling us to stay divided. We're in the midst of an economic crisis over half of this state. But it's an economic crisis because our leaders have allowed it to happen”
