BC is about to elect a far right government due to the spineless antics of neoliberals. Calling an election no one wanted while governing from the centre right as a so called soc dem political party
Crazy thing about Eby is that he literally didn't have to do ANY of this shit. Heard him described as constantly searching for things to Pragmatically Sacrifice. His staff is a hot mess of rando lawyers giving shitty advice. Most Democrat-coded Canadian politician I've ever seen.

It’s time for PM Carney to put his Davos comments into action. Canada standing against Trump’s illegal fuel blockade of Cuba and helping send energy to Cuba is a perfect opportunity to do so.

Frédéric Lordon on late stage Macronism: "...a state reduced to two ministries — the Ministry of the Budget and the Ministry of the Interior. Or, to put it another way: the Ministry of Friends (the markets) and the Ministry of Enemies (the people). As the first runs up against the economic impasse of neoliberalism, the second comes to hold all the power." tribunemag.co.uk/2026/10/the… @tribunemagazine

Pep Guardiola @PepTeam is taking his solidarity with Palestine a step further, promoting the BDS Europe Conference in Barcelona and stressing the importance of condemning apartheid and those complicit in it. Pure commitment to the cause!

When New Yorkers and Palestinians are detained & tortured in Israel's prisons, they are being abused under Ben-Gvir's authority. When armed settlers attack New Yorkers and Palestinians with guns, they were almost certainly armed by Ben-Gvir. 1/3
Today, Brad Lander, rabbis, and other New Yorkers accompanied Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. For that, they were detained by the Israeli government.  Harvesting olives is not illegal. The occupation is. I am thankful that Brad has been released. But other New Yorkers remain detained, and they must be released immediately. The same Israeli government detaining them has committed a horrific genocide against Palestinians, killing more than 74,000 people over the last few years alone.  The detention of these New Yorkers must end. The occupation must end. The genocide must end.

"This, then, was the Spenglerian prospect for the Western world, for the present day: the fateful, irresistibly growing dominion of the “Caesars” of monopoly capitalism over a merely amorphous mass of “peasant” proletarians." (G. Lukács)

Re: tmrw, I’m thinking of Furio Jesi’s essay on Rimbaud & the child’s revolt, what is lost in “renouncing the condition of childhood & becoming part of the realm of adults—the only people who devote themselves to revolutions whose failure, from the outset, they take for granted”

"The policeman shouts but the man doesn't run. He just stands there, looking at the policeman, he doesn't budge. The man has stopped being afraid-and this is precisely the beginning of the revolution. The policeman turns around and begins to walk heavily back towards his post."
Je crois sincèrement qu'on tient ici la séquence du siècle

It should be illegal for Israel’s top arms producer to purchase a Canadian company. Elbit Systems is complicit in the genocide of Palestinians. Cancel the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement, enact sanctions and a two-way arms embargo now.

The 2018 reconstruction of Les Halles was a crime against the dispossessed. If it gets burned down to a cinder, it will be legible as surplus populations asserting their right to the city and creating social space
