Replying to @Knesix
The extra votes came from higher Hispanic turnout (border counties flipped back hard), urban/suburban gains, and a midterm environment focused on costs and education.
We lost the majority of Hispanic votes, 40% of Texas. Republicans ignored them.
Texas is 40% HISPANIC AND WE LOST THEIR VOTE. The entire border flipped back HARD TO BLUE. Prices are high and gas is high.
I voted for this!! 🇺🇸🦅❤️🔥💪🏼
RESULTS ARE IN: Operation Highway Shield put nearly 400 drivers and trucks OUT OF SERVICE during the 48-hour operation in Arkansas - including nearly 200 truckers that COULDN’T READ ROAD SIGNS ❌
Gone are the days of dangerous, and many times illegal and foreign drivers putting American lives at risk on our roads. Under the Trump Administration, we are restoring LAW AND ORDER

You might not like who is saying it.
You might not like how he is saying it.
You might not even like what he is saying.
But in his own way, no-bullshit locker room talk sort of way, he is 100% correct, and to those who listened, he has been warning Americans that this was going to happen for a long long time.
WOOHOO!!! Our bright shining star in Texas.

To the people of TX26- thank you for a decisive victory in my reelection campaign. I’m humbled and grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me.
And thank you to my beautiful wife Danielle for her unwavering support and to my precious children Marigold and Winston.
It’s my greatest honor and privilege to represent the people of North Texas.

Charlie’s vision for Turning Point Action was always bigger than one election. He wanted a permanent, year-round operation with the people, relationships, and resources to compete in every cycle. He knew there would be victories and setbacks because he had experienced both and that’s why he built for both.
Last night, we saw races Republicans once won handily by double digits come down to the thinnest of margins, and in some cases, flip entirely. Democratic socialist candidates made the cost of gas, groceries, and housing the center of their campaigns. And voters responded at the ballot box. A rising stock market doesn’t mean much when nearly half of Americans don’t have a 401K and just want to put gas in their trucks, put food on the table, and provide a good life for their families.
But every time socialism has tried it has failed, because socialism concentrates economic power in the hands of the government instead of trusting individuals to build prosperity for themselves and their families. That’s fundamentally at odds with the free enterprise, individual liberty, and opportunity at the heart of the American experiment. We can disagree with the solutions voters were offered while still recognizing why they were looking elsewhere for answers. Exit polls clearly showed that the American people are concerned about the state of the economy and the war in Iran. This isn’t a surprise to us because we’ve heard the same concerns from our students around the country for months and we’ve been concerned about it too.
The biggest mistake conservatives can make right now would be to allow this moment to become another exercise in finger-pointing, in-fighting, or trying to secure their own political preservation. That does not solve the problems the American people are demanding be solved.
Turning Point was born out of a moment just like this following the Obama era, which was itself a reaction to the political frustration of the early 2000’s. Our history reminds us that moments of disappointment can actually be moments of renewal and infinite opportunity.
Americans are not looking for labels and don’t subscribe to unquestioned party loyalty anymore either. They will support the candidates who can both speak to their concerns and deliver on what THEY need and dream about for their families. And those needs are the same as they have always been: an affordable home, safe communities, and the hope that the next generation will inherit a country with more opportunity than the last generation did. That is what the American dream has promised to all of us.
I miss Charlie so much every single day, but especially on a day like today. He always said that when things are going well, we need to stay humble. And when things aren’t going the way we want, we need to stay positive, keep our faith, and get back to work.
That’s exactly what we’re doing over at Turning Point today. We are going to listen, study the results, and spend the next two years making the case for how conservative, free market solutions, and a renewed focus on our country’s founding principles can address the problems the American people face. And we’re going to keep building the permanent infrastructure Charlie envisioned, strengthening our relationships in communities across the country, and preparing for 2028 and beyond.
If you woke up feeling discouraged today, there’s more important work to do than ever. Our principles haven’t changed and neither has our mission.
To every staff member, student, volunteer, and ballot chaser who gave their time and energy to this mission this cycle, thank you. I know Charlie would be unbelievably proud of each and every one of you, and I am, too.
Onward. 🇺🇸
Excellent Community Note. I’m sick of rage baiting posts.
Texans are about to be taxed into extinction. State income tax inbound. Property taxes about to go through the roof. And good luck with the 2nd amendment.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Texas cannot impose a state income tax on individuals. Article VIII, Section 24-a of the Texas Constitution explicitly prohibits it; repealing this requires a constitutional amendment with two-thirds legislative approval and voter ratification.

I told everyone socialist Hinojosa wanted no borders, to defund CBP, defund ICE and defund police. She is worse than brainless Obiden. Talarico is the SAME and will fight for no borders in Texas. Congratulations people who voted blue, this is your fault. 🫵🫵🫵
Understand the implications of what happened in Texas last night.
Gina Hinojosa has called on Gov. Abbott to end state & local cooperation with ICE & she can order that on day one.
Hinojosa voted against the 2017 SB 4 as a TX state rep. The bill was essentially a sanctuary cities ban and required TX law enforcement to cooperate with ICE detainers. She then voted against another SB 4 in 2023, which made it a state crime to cross illegally into Texas.
Should there be another border crisis in coming years, there will likely be no resistance from Texas at the border. No Texas DPS, no TX National Guard, no razor wire or water buoys, and no Operation Lone Star, which Hinojosa called a “dog and pony show” and “political theater”.
Remember when 15,000 Haitians surged illegally into Del Rio, TX in 2021 under the international bridge? That was only stopped because Texas DPS responded on Abbott’s orders and physically blocked further crossings by lining up their cruisers to form a wall. The Biden Border Patrol was caught off guard and offered almost no resistance, except for some horseback agents who were falsely slandered for “whipping”.
Additionally, because Republicans failed to pass any legislation codifying President Trump’s border security measures, if Dems take the White House in 2028, that Dem president could, if he/she wants to, reverse every single Trump border security policy immediately upon taking office because they were all done at the executive level, and they can order Border Patrol to go back to a passive catch & release policy like we saw under Biden.

🚨 Support for SOCIALISM has gone up +17 points in 611 days with college students 18-24.
17 POINTS in less than two years under this Department of Education.
I've waited 611 days to tweet this out of respect for President Trump, but... our Education Secretary should RESIGN. RESIGN and get someone in this position who understands the war we're now in.
This isn't PERSONAL, it's SURVIVAL.
$79 BILLION in federal funding to the Department of Education since January, and we are at 42% of the youth on college campuses embracing SOCIALISM, and that number is SKYROCKETING.
THE NEXT GENERATION ARE VOTING FOR SOCIALISM.
We are FUNDING this demise.
