Got a follow up and update I want to share: Hours after the hijack happened, my channel was terminated. Thankfully it’s only temporary. And then hours later at 2AM (I was asleep when they emailed me). YPP (YouTube Partner Program) sent me an email: I got a response from YouTube They sent me this: “I’m sorry to hear that your channel may have been hijacked. This is very alarming and we're glad that you've brought this to our attention. Let me assist you with this. To help you further, I've raised this to the experts and they have confirmed that your channel has been compromised. To prevent any further harm from being inflicted on it, they've temporarily disabled your Google account.” But then here comes the bad news. They obviously told me to use the recovery system which didn’t work after a few times I tried. The hacker literally changed everything. Removed all my access to sign in. They setup a physical security key, they removed my 2FA, they changed and added emails I have no access to. And whenever I tried clicking “try another way” they couldn’t confirm it was me trying to sign in. And they told me to try again which puts me through a loophole. Guys in case you aren’t aware I woke up to some TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE NEWS!! My YouTube channel was unfortunately hacked and the hacker posted some suspicious content that I would never upload. I already reported this to TeamYouTube on X and I’m working on trying to recover my YouTube and Google account which might take a few days. What caused it is that my stupid self fell for a fake copyright strike email, and I should’ve not clicked on it in the first place. I learned to always check YouTube Studio for copyright claims. So I deeply apologize this happened and when I get my account back I will not make the same mistake again. If I get scam emails, I’ll just delete them. TeamYouTube is going to keep me updated.
