Being a #FLO often means that dreaded knock at the door & this time of year it’s always harder. Adults thinking it’s relatives, children thinking it’s Santa 🎅🏻 You knock knowing that what you’re going to tell them will change their lives forever 🚔 #DontDrinkAndDrive

Driver thought this was ok and fully secure. Well it isn't, cant just rely on the chains in this situation. vehicle prohibited PG9 until another truck arrived, and driver fined. #CVU #Saferroads. At least he had dust sheets on 🤷‍♂️

Last 2 nights have seen me working back on team again doing response policing. Last night we dealt with a person experiencing mental ill health with @Ldn_Ambulance. With good team work we were able to get the person to a hospital to be seen by professionals #TeamGreenAndBlue

As someone who has a specialist posting in traffic you can be quite removed from the realities of everyday response policing. 3 days this week I’ve worked on ‘team’ on a BCU. So much demand, but the teams worked hard from start to finish. I’ve a new found respect for them.

Worth a read if you’ve got a view or do not fully understand police misconduct.
I haven’t seen the letter and would not comment on that. But just a few points that arise from the BBC article on police misconduct. /1

It didn’t stop us getting the unlicensed motorcycle rider whose bike we ended up seizing. Well done to @PeckhamRat who managed to deal with two drug drivers in the shift 👍.

“I try and find an offence on the vehicle before I pull it over,” says Acting Sergeant Marc Taraso of Ontario’s Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS). 👆Absolutely agree. Target the obvious risks, some may be a discussion point, but others may require more formal action.
Some of our HRPS Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspectors recently had the opportunity to be interviewed for an article in trucknews.com 👏👏check out the article here trucknews.com/transportation… ^DB

On the way back to the garage and I get waved down by a victim of theft. I’m just hoping that the crime report memo Gods go easy. I’ve not had to open the crime system in a long while 😂.

I think a took a wrong turn somewhere 🤔 What a vehicle though.

Really interesting to hear from @backhousejones taking about bridge strikes at #RTX2022 On average of 1900 strikes per year

I know money is tight, but for the sake of your own safety you cannot ride / drive a vehicle with tyres in this state. On a bike there is very little contact between the road surface and the tyres. @Tyresafe #PG9

BMW X2 M35i. An absolute pocket rocket and the vehicle of choice for a spot of night working.

Driving to pick up some colleagues this morning & I get waved down to deal with an alleged burglary in an industrial unit near 🐀 HQ. The suspect had severed his finger on the metal fencing on the way in & it was hanging on the fence! Just what I need at 5am 🫣

I have to wonder about the motivations of those who QA case papers & start and end actions on a Saturday, knowing full well we are likely to fail due to rest days. The requested action was not required & would have been obvious had they read the papers.

The team have put a lot of effort into this case so it was a good job that the memo escalated to me so that I could resolve it before they ended the case because we had failed to respond to a memo.
