Hi all. Some of you may have noticed I’ve been absent this season. My sweet boy, Nola, is very sick. He has a rare auto-immune disorder that is attacking his kidneys, which is unfortunately progressive and fast-moving. He’s supposed to turn 6 in June. It is breaking my heart.

I truly don’t know what the Phillies saw in Don Mattingly that inspired them to believe that he’s the right choice going forward. This feels like a decision made due to a lack of options rather than being a good fit. Offseason is off to a swimming start.

Sam Fuld was offered the A’s job as president of baseball operations but declined to take it and has withdrawn from consideration, sources tell ESPN. Fuld, who was previously GM of Philadelphia, will remain in his current role as president of business operations for the Phillies.

Alec Bohm's time with the Phillies is officially over. He was their third overall pick in 2018. He mustered just 4.9 rWAR across 7 seasons. A frustrating tenure to say the least. Showed little aptitude for adjustment at the plate. He'll enter free agency at 30 years old.

All you can hope is that a series like this finally makes it clear to the Phillies' front office that sweeping change is desperately necessary this offseason. It has truly been the same product year after year after year.

Andrew 'Miller' Painter... What a phenomenal performance from him. What. A. Win. I did not see that one coming.

I mean, that’s easily the biggest hit of Alec Bohm’s career right?

There’s some kind of devil magic in the baseballs that J.T. Realmuto hits to Ronald Acuña Jr. in the Postseason. What a huge break.

So deserved. Bryan Rincon has had a brilliant season, and to see it nationally recognized after the tumultuous last two years he’s had is nothing short of remarkable. Prospect evaluation is hard, folks. No one could have seen this coming, but it’s been pretty amazing to witness.

Javier ended the inning with 15 straight pitches out of the strike zone. He recorded three outs, including two strikeouts.

For those who were wondering: Starlyn Caba (A+): 82 G, .236/.389/.378, 7 HR, 90 K Emaarion Boyd (AA): 62 G, .241/.311/.333, 3 HR, 51 K It's an all-time trade for Dave Dombrowski and Co. -- particularly after getting the extension done right before a Cy Young worthy season.

You should do a breakdown of the trade one day ac. A legit #1 and maybe a potential backup catcher next year for us for Caba and Boyd is robbery

There aren't enough adjectives in the dictionary to describe that Jesus Luzardo performance. Masterful. A two-hit shutout -- the first of his career -- in a heated division race. Just brilliant.
