New this winter: NWS can include Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) wording for Blizzard Warnings and Ice Storm Warnings. This will be reserved for storms where there is high confidence in a rare and extreme event. #NDwx

ALT Infographic: "This is a Particularly Dangerous Situation". Starting this winter, you might see these words on Blizzard Warnings or Ice Storm Warnings. This means that there is high confidence in a rare and extreme event that poses an exceptional threat due to its historic nature. During a Particularly Dangerous Situation, stay off the roads and exercise extreme caution.

It’s been in development a long time, but finally, “threats-in-motion” likely to come in 2028 as new software is implemented across the National Weather Service. Severe storm warnings will move with the storm. @nwas

Once again, get rid of everybody on the board of trustees. They are willingly letting the disaster of a football program continue.

Models have NWA struggling to get out of the 50’s tomorrow. Now THAT, is a fall cold front!
Wouldn’t rule out the potential for some very isolated patchy frost in low lying areas Saturday or Sunday morning as lows go into the 30’s.

[3:10 PM - 10/14/2026] - We finally got rain across the area & more is expected to come from now through Thu night. Cooler & rainy conditions looks to limit the severe potential in NWA, but the River Valley (Le Flore co) could see severe storms. Here's your weather update. #ARwx
