SWFC: The painstaking pride in Wednesday's Charge of the Blue and White Brigade

Third bottom. One win in their eight league matches. Concessions of late goals to drop points. All a sideshow. This Sheffield Wednesday side is one its supporters can be proud of, writes Alex Miller.

🚨My understanding of the latest around reports Sheffield Wednesday players considering a refusal to train or play amid further financial failures at the club. Huge character shown throughout this mess. Word also from Henrik Pedersen👇 thestar.co.uk/sport/football… #SWFC🦉

These are some of the highest ratings I’ve given to any Wednesday team, let alone one that conceded late to lose. Absolutely blown away by the effort and commitment shown. Have yourself some high numbers👇 thestar.co.uk/sport/football… #SWFC🦉

FT: Cruel way to take the shine off a stunning effort from a Wednesday side taped together by the end of that game. Cramps all over the place. Another point, three unbeaten. They’re giving this everything. #SWFC🦉

Bannan down and on his way off for cramp. Some increasingly empty tanks out there. Yet again, players giving it everything. Quick turnaround, smallest squad in the division. All this is a monumental effort. #SWFC🦉

A pause as Stansfield grabs treatment - he’s going off. Scotland international Lyndon Dykes replaces him. Big aerial threat. Owls looking to gnarl this one up a touch. Good, battling away effort so far with bright moments. #SWFC🦉

St Andrews growing increasingly frustrated. Once again, unpaid Wednesday putting on a committed, battling effort. Fans seem to expect to beat this Owls side easily - not so. #SWFC🦉
