I wrote about Last Ditch closing, and how it’s ultimately a sad story about people who tried to provide for their community—only for that community to cannibalize them. queerty.com/the-most-infamou…

My home county! Half of MSNBC’s viewership lives here. “In this house…” signs are still very much en vogue in Newton!
The Golden Life has dark energy. The show is looser & clearly they have more control over production. I think we’re going to see some really nasty sides of them—esp Dorinda. I don’t know what to make of Sonja. They’ve always made insinuations with her & now the 4th wall is down.
Red light cameras are a form of harassment. Obviously, I am not advocating for people to drive dangerously. But mailing honest, hard/working citizens $100+ tickets for going 5 mph over the speed limit or going right on red a shade after the light turns is punitive.

Obsessed with this guy who finds the most boring average looking men in Boston and then street harasses them (“who let this DADDY outside?!”), and they absolutely LOVE IT and are beaming from the attention. Much to consider here
I’ll say it: Alexi Giannoulias creeps me out. He’s been building a war chest to run for mayor for years and just seems unctuous. Chicago’s version of Gavin Newsom. They court many of the same kind of billionaire donors.
Chicago needs a budget that reflects the priorities of working families, not politics. We must #demandbetter.
It's not just megalomania. It's downright homophobic & trashy.
I find all of this hype over the “closeted GOP senator” to be low brow. Either release his name or shut up about it.
I wrote about how when a guy like Billy Evans goes full frontal, it’s a full-on power play. queerty.com/the-truth-behind…
A new gay bar in New York City is turning heads… both on the streets and online.

I don’t get why people are so obsessed with whether other people go to an office or WFH. Yes, getting out of the house is a great thing, but why does that have to be at work?
You Can See Everything is worth the hype. Much like Nathan Fielder, I have a softer view of Elizabeth Holmes, with the full understanding that I could be getting completely hoodwinked.
That’s actually good advice. I struggle with OCD—obsessive, self-hating thoughts. It got really bad this spring. But I’ve been working with my therapist & decided, “I don’t have to punish myself like this.” The key is to build distance between yourself & your depressive thoughts.

Great piece. You can draw a lot of parallels between the death of the Steinbrenner Yankees & the death of local character. Much like the PE bros who can afford tickets to their games, the Yankees are staid & corporate—the baseball equivalent of half zips & Patagonia vests
If Yankee fans are going to read anything we should read Howard Bryant's Substack piece on why the Yankees as we knew them died and how it is a concerted effort from MLB. howardbryant.substack.com/p/…
Living in Boston, I often overlooked Midwestern towns like Milwaukee. But now, I've seen the folly of my ignorance gaycities.com/articles/10769…
