I knew David as a kind, tireless colleague who dedicated his life to public service. His death was a terrible reminder of the risks faced by those in public life, and of our responsibility to ensure that everyone can serve their communities without fear.
Today, we remember David’s extraordinary commitment to the people he represented, and the lasting loss felt by his family, friends and all who knew him.

How can an entire town be locked down so we can import people to our country that we have no idea who they are, and the Home Secretary thinks could well be rapists?

Hampshire Police have imposed a Section 34 dispersal order over the whole of Gosport until 7am Tuesday, covering about 82,600 residents.
Officers can order people to leave and not return; refusal is an arrestable offence.
Face-covering powers and a designated protest area at Walpole car park are also in force.
The trigger is one small boat, reported as carrying dozens, that may be brought ashore at Fort Blockhouse. Utter madness..

On reflection my language wasn’t quite right.
Ed Miliband isn’t an idiot. He knows full well how despicable the Iranian regime is.
He knows the Iranians try and kill Brits around the world. He knows they fund radical Islamist preachers to sow discord in our country. He knows they are plotting terror attacks on our soil.
So he isn’t just a useful idiot to Tehran. He is actively undermining British interests. Which is far, far worse.

I genuinely believe that this government is not just useless or out of touch, genuinely increasingly dangerous and actively trying to undermine our country.
Yesterday they opened up new asylum routes, in the midst of protests across the country about immigration, and showed they are totally tone deaf. Today apparently having an ale in a country pub with your dog at your feet is 'a far-right fantasy' - from a Labour Minister who supposedly grew up in rural Suffolk, no less.
How can anyone who loves this country possibly believe that? Half of this lot have either never been out of London or had a proper job in the real world, or they're so indoctrinated that they genuinely believe our history and our culture is some kind of extremist horror show. I honestly despair.
Can we please just get them gone? Call an election Andy and put us all out of our misery!

Andy Burnham’s Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has just announced a new push to bring even more migrants into Britain from Afghanistan and the Palestinian territories.
As if this weekend’s revelations about Hamas operatives in our midst wasn’t enough. Now Labour wants to mass import more people under the guise of “international obligations.”
I want to be extremely clear. Britain is not obligated to take in more migrants, and under a Reform government these people will not be able to stay.
If Labour are so sure the public wants their open borders policies, they’d call a general election to get a mandate. Without it, Andy remains unelected, and his government’s policies remain illegitimate.
