Final prediction for the Senate.

Dating back to 2010, no party has lost a Senate race where they were rated "Lean" or better in Cook. While this is not a guarantee, if it holds then the GOP would need get a majority of the "Toss Ups" (which they achieved in 2018!).

While Dems are favored in the Senate, the GOP could hope for a 2018 result - When red states like Indiana, Tennessee, and Missouri were all rated "Toss Up", but where the GOP won on ED without too much hassle. Not hard to see IA and KS (maybe even OH and TX) as similar.

Interesting decision from the Arizona COA. Defendant convicted of manslaughter in a road rage incident. At sentencing, Prosecution played an AI-generated video of the deceased (with no objection). COA finds this was improper and vacates/remands the sentence. #AppellateTwitter

Today I lost my buddy, Zuko. The friendliest, kindest, loudest, silliest cat. I’m going to miss him terribly.

I’m an appellate court judge. I’ve read thousands of briefs. Here’s what no one told you about persuasion and how to win. Thread.

Good thread for my friends on #AppellateTwitter. I am curious if @JudgeDillard agrees with my colleague's brief writing tips in this thread?

The Arizona Court of Appeals (Div. 1) has made note of hallucinated case citations in two separate decisions in as many days. #AppellateTwitter

An excellent #AppellateJob opportunity for law students who are about to graduate and young AZ attorneys: Several judges of the Ariz. Court of Appeals (Div. 1) are accepting applications for clerkships starting *this summer*. Deadline is a week from today (2/9). #AppellateJobs

You can find the job postings in the "News" section of the Court's webpage: coa1.azcourts.gov/

I truly have no idea what this author is saying. Presumably, the only people who should be judges are... people who don't know what a judge is? People who are ambivalent about being a judge (though I suppose that falls in the "doesn't want to" category)?

Interesting concurrence today in the Arizona Supreme Court, with Chief Justice Timmer urging the Court to "pump the brakes on embracing corpus linguistics". #AppellateTwitter

This is all I can ever think about when I read a @NateSilver538 piece that shoehorns in “The River” and “The Village.”

My @AZDORmedia representative hung up on me because she would not believe me when I told her that I'd called about my issue previously. She insisted that my old ticket had to be unrelated... (I would know!) I'm just trying to make sure I'm not penalized for taxes I already paid!

Over-under on a SCOTUS Justice being among the 4% judicial staff? @BadLegalTakes

Do I know anyone on #AppellateTwitter who is located in D.C. and can help me claim a Green Bag bobblehead?
