Netflix has spent the last 10 years trying to render movie theaters obsolete. i wrote about why they failed, why they gave up, and why abandoning their holy war on exhibition could save the struggling company from becoming obsolete itself.

Imagine being given somewhere around 80 years on a planet floating through an incomprehensibly enormous universe, surrounded by billions of people you will never meet, mysteries you will never solve, places you will never see, and more knowledge than you could absorb in a thousand lifetimes...
and spending the whole damn thing worrying about money, arguing with strangers, impressing people you don't even like, and doing something you hate five days a week because somebody convinced you that was life.
I don't know, man.
I think we may have gotten a few things terribly wrong.

Our charity exists to save lives at sea. Our mission is to save every one. Our lifesavers are compelled to help those in need without judgement of how they came to be in the water. They have done so since the RNLI was founded in 1824 and this will always be our ethos.
STILL here @British_Airways stuck on plane - no gangway driver?! Youāre the butt of a bad joke.
One of the best to ever wear the shirt. Led us to a trophy. Player with heart and passion. Good luck Bruno. Take care of him #AFC, he needs lots of hugs and Kinder Buenos⦠no feeding after midnight. š
Once again Emma Thompson proving to be an absolute goddess merely slumming it in our world. š
Emma Thompson tells AI to "just f*ck off" and calls it an "intense irritation" as a screenwriter.
"I write long hand on a pad, old script actually, because I believe that there is a connection between the brain and the hand. So itās very important to me. And then when Iāve written something, I will put it into a Word document. And recently, the Word document is constantly saying, āWould you like me to rewrite that for you?ā And so I end up just saying, āI donāt need you to rewrite what Iāve just written, will you fuck off?! Just fuck off' Iām so annoyed."

The universal love and affection for Robert Redford reassures me there is still goodness in this world.
All he had to do was smile. Because with a smile like that you disarm everyone within a 50 mile radius. What a legend.
More Tony Scott energy in movies is a mantra I am firmly behind. #TonyScottForever
Rest in peace Terence Stamp. What a wonderfully charismatic actor. A cinematic career that feels incredibly diverse. He is magnetic in all his work but there is something unnervingly powerful about him in Soderberghās exceptional The Limey.
I had an absolute blast with #MissionImpossibleTheFinalReckoning - a film that demands to be seen on the big screen.

A lean, mean and brilliant character driven crime thriller, The Order is a very good film that grips you by the throat and dazzles you with its gorgeous visuals.
Dear @joe_dante - who do we need to talk to in order to get a 4K release of the exceptional Innerspace? Because I need Jack Putter to the rescue STAT!
Zemeckis is a weirdly under appreciated filmmaker. Some of the shots in this sequence are incredible.
