I do psychological & behavioural change. Then I measure what actually changed. Building @head_trash + @ladderofgrowth. I have a lot of questions. And charts.

Let’s be clear:
If I’m not going to sleep with you, I don’t need to know anything about your sexuality.
And children—who are not going to sleep with anyone—certainly don’t.
Your sexuality is not sacred. It’s not a personality, it’s not a protected class of performance art, and it’s not the center of anyone’s moral universe but your own. Unless we are in a relationship, I am not obligated to acknowledge, affirm, or be exposed to your private desires—especially not in public, and especially not in front of children.
This used to be understood. Now it’s called hate.
No, We Don’t Owe You an Audience
Sexuality belongs in the private realm. It is intimate by definition. If you feel compelled to wear your kink on your sleeve—or on a float, or in a first-grade classroom—you are not inviting understanding, you are demanding submission. You are violating others’ right not to participate.
Consent doesn’t vanish because your fetish is “progressive.” If anything, the burden is higher.
No one consents to being flashed on the subway. No one consents to a stranger’s arousal. No one consents to a stranger telling their child about masturbation, kink, gender identity, or pornographic categories under the guise of “inclusive sex ed.” Yet all of this is happening now—in public parks, in classrooms, in televised programming.
It is not tolerance. It is invasion.
Children Are Not Here to Validate You
Children are not queer. Children are not sexual. Children do not need to “see themselves represented” in a spectrum of adult desire. This idea—that identity is only valid if sexualized and mirrored—is narcissism, not pedagogy.
There is no legitimate reason to initiate a child into the language of sexual preference, gender identity, or alternative lifestyles. The only people who benefit from that dynamic are those looking to normalize boundary violations.
Let me state it plainly:
Children who are not going to have sex do not need to be exposed to sexuality.
Period.
Any adult who insists otherwise is not confused. They are grooming.
Public Fetishism Is Not Liberation
There is a vast difference between being gay and demanding the right to simulate sex acts in front of children. Between being transgender and insisting on teaching kindergartners about breast removal. Between being proud of who you are and insisting the whole world observe your kink play in the street.
This is not diversity. This is decay.
Men in dog masks being walked on leashes by their lovers are not brave—they are forcing strangers into their psychodrama. This is exhibitionism, and when children are present, it becomes criminal exhibitionism.
We used to know this. Peeping, flashing, voyeurism—these were considered red flags. Dangerous behaviors. Early signs of escalation. Now they’re filmed, hashtagged, and funded by public grants.
Stop Calling It Love—It’s Entitlement
This is not about who you love. It’s about how you demand to be seen. If you need the entire public to witness, applaud, and adapt to your sexuality, you’re not a pioneer—you’re an emotional colonizer.
Love does not demand a captive audience. It does not parade past toddlers. It does not demand that schools teach four-year-olds about “preferred pronouns.” Love protects children. Love guards modesty. Love waits.
And if you can’t wait—if you need to be seen, affirmed, and obeyed—you’re not talking about love. You’re talking about power.
Consent Applies to Culture, Too
We teach children that consent is sacred—so why are we failing to apply that lesson to public life?
No child consents to drag queen story hour.
No parent consents to leather harnesses on city floats.
No woman consents to being exposed to male sexuality in the ladies’ room, or in the school library, or anywhere she cannot opt out.
Consent is not just for sex. It’s for everything.
Attention. Language. Presence. Ideology. Imagery.
And we are done pretending we don’t notice when it’s violated.
The boundary is back.
And we are drawing it in bold.
Here’s who I built my app for: people who want to change how they feel. People who know they Do The Thing but want to STOP Doing The Thing! That’s who the Clearance Club is for 👇

This drives me mad! What is it about therapy influencers who are perpetuating the narrative, that when you are wrestling with emotional challenges (anxiety, trauma, PTSD etc) ... that you just have to learn to cope with it ... just take it one day at time.. these things take time...
Change doesn't have to take a long time. Healing doesn't have to take a long time. And I include trauma in that. Why are people being told that BY THE PROFESSIONALS?
What drives me mad is that most people are never offered the choice to change.
Let's say people with severe anxiety, panic attacks, flashbacks and sleepless nights were offered a choice:
A - Do you want to these things to go away? [CHANGE]
Or,
B - Would you rather keep these things, but at arms length? [COPE]
Do you think they'd all be choosing B?
"I'd like to keep those things in my life, but at arms length please".
"Ooh yes.. I'd love to have anxiety for another 5 years please!"..
"Could we take the long, slow, gentle route please?"
I doubt it. Some might.
Most people would prefer the change option. But how many of them are being offered a choice?
At what point do we have to call this unethical?
Personal development is stuffed with MORE.
More confident. More resilient. More disciplined. More productive. More emotionally intelligent. More self-aware. More capable.
There is always another bloody upgrade available for the human.
I think that some of the most meaningful change goes in the opposite direction.
Less preparation required.
Less internal negotiation.
Less vigilance.
Less recovery.
Less effort spent controlling yourself.
Less of your attention disappearing into things that used to consume it.
Maybe the aspiration shouldn't always be MORE.
Maybe it's simply having more of the human who's already there becoming available for something other than managing themselves. And you get that by doing less.
If you're looking for a Vimeo alternative that also allows you to edit and connects to Claude (so Claude can do all that) check out Tella. It's bloody marvellous. I might ditch vimeo now.
Meta One. WTH? So I've got to pay for AI tools and being able to share links? As a user, my feed is full of people/pages I haven't chosen to connect to. I just see random shit. Which means, my posts are someone else's random shit. And you want me to pay to add links when my posts are not even going to the people i'm connected to. Jog on zuckface!
A big week for me! this week. My app, launched. THANK GOD!!! I can't believe I did it.
Here's a bit more about the whole thing...
Five years ago someone offered me seven figures to build this
And it went nowhere. They lost interest as VCs do, and my app brief sat there gathering digital dust. Until I discovered Claude Cowork. We're all bored of "ooh look what I built with AI " stories by now, so I won't go there.
Using AI to write code is one thing, but this project was so much more than the code. The code turned out not to be the hard part
The first proper hard problem was the content. Writing over 700 sets of change-scripts wasn't that much fun I have to admit. But I wanted to be able to provide bespoke ones on tap. AI, right?
I've spent over 3 years training AI models to write out my clearance scripts. THREE. For some reason it really struggles with the methodology, and it took that long to get it to a place I'd put my name on. But I think I've finally cracked it. We shall see.
That's what Milo is, my glorious Border Collie's twin, who's now in the app. Milo is a little AI bot that fetches your scripts on demand (he behaves a lot better than the real Milo!)
And the week I decided to 'do security'. That ended up being weeks of work that took me way outside of my comfort zone.
Then icons. ICONS!!! How long did I spend going through icons?? The Club includes 18 head trash/life themes that needed icons, as well as the usual app icons. And they all needed to sit well alongside each other. I think I may have overdosed on icons that month.
The bit I'm really proud of though is the assessments. A lot of personal development apps (ALL?) don't show you if using them actually changes anything for you. Mine does.
All the work I've done developing the @LadderofGrowth model, is inside the app. This means that you get to do two types of assessments;
1 - The Onboarding Assessment which gives you an in-depth read on where you're at when you join. This one tells you where to start and what to focus on inside. It's completely personalised.
2 - the Theme checkins - let's say you decide to tackle your control issues. Well, you start by doing the Control Checkin assessment. Then once you've done all the clearances, you do the assessment again - AND SEE HOW YOU'VE CHANGED!
How bloody brilliant is that??
Getting these to work took a lot of brain power let me tell you! And testing. Oh the testing!
So yes. That's what I've been hiding in my shed doing since February! Well, not the only thing, obvs.
If you want to check it out, head over to head-trash.com/club
It's £49 a month. I'm doing a low key opening while I keep an eye on things, so there's 20% off if you come in now. Which for proper psychological and behavioural change, is a bloody bargain.
And if you have any questions on any of this, let me know. Always up for podcast chats too!
Personal growth isn't something you leave running in the background. You can't stick it in the oven and expect it to be done a few hours later. It's more like a Bechamel sauce: you have to stand there and stir. otherwise it's lumpy and unusable.
Measure first. Intervene second.
I'm becoming quite militant about this.
If we're going to do something intended to change a human, I want a decent reading of what's happening before we touch it.
Not because every human needs to become a dataset. Because otherwise we're astonishingly vulnerable to hindsight. We do some work, the person says they feel different, and suddenly everything afterwards becomes evidence that our favourite method worked.
I want the before picture.
Then do the work.
Then show me what moved.
Insight and change are NOT the same thing
You can understand exactly why you do something and still do it all the bloody time.
You can know where it came from, recognise the trigger, understand the childhood experience, spot the pattern while it's happening and explain the whole thing beautifully afterwards. That's insight. Sure, it can be useful, sometimes important. But it's not evidence that your pattern has changed.
Change is when the same situation arrives and different thought patterns and behaviours are available to you by default (not through conscious effort). That's a different thing altogether.
External abundance doesn't guarantee internal abundance.
A person can have ALL THE THINGS.. a safe home, money, food, status, autonomy, relationships and options... while still operating internally around scarcity, threat, approval, certainty or control. And this goes the other way. A person with a generally grounded MO can encounter genuine external threats to their sense of safety or survival and understandably show operate in a more grounded manner.
This means that your external conditions and the way you operate internally are related but THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. Money can buy security, options, time, support and relief from real material/life pressures. But on its own it can't guarantee that your internal system will stop behaving as though safety, worth or certainty have been dealt with.
You can change the various conditions of your life (money/home/relationships etc) without necessarily changing the person you bring who's living this life.
This is why you hear about people who've hit the next financial milestone, and now they're chasing the next one.
This morning, my iPhone sent a message to someone telling what time I would be home and gave my full address... while in my back pocket on a dog walk!! I only knew about this because the person replied asking if the message was for them. Thankfully it was my neighbour so he knows where i live. But FFS!!!
I have no idea how to send such a message - just tried. I don't put a route in my satnav for my dog walk so there was no ETA so share... but @Apple came up with one.
The security settings are a joke. Either that or my face looks like my butt.
2 weeks ago Claude design shipped. I immediately hit my token limit and was in Claude Design Jail for 5 days. Since then I rebuilt the whole of my @head_trash site and it's now live.
There is no way i could have achieved this without @claudeai . Even with a big web agency at my side I couldn't have done this. Just the going back and forth on amends would have taken a week, let alone the full build. Can't bloody believe it!
Time to shake things up in mental health.

Nearly 70,000 people saw my post about One Born Every Minute coming back.
I've read every comment and what struck me was the nuance.
- The midwife who fast-forwards everything except the professional conversations because the timescales are so wrong.
- The woman who's never been afraid of birth - she's terrified of the medical system abusing her again.
- The pregnant mum of twins who can't find a single positive natural twin birth on OBEM anywhere.
- The bombshell that the new series is filming in a high-risk, labour-ward-only hospital - meaning physiological births are structurally impossible to feature.
This is so much more than a TV show.
The forces shaping women's experience of birth go so much deeper than what's on screen. And what nobody is talking about - not the broadcaster, not the healthcare system - is the nervous system of the person watching.
That's the conversation I want to have.

TESTERS NEEDED - Something exciting is in the works...
I'm putting the finishing touches to my Anxiety Profiling tool - and before we open the doors properly, I'm looking for a handful of people to test it.
This is for you if:
👉 You're working through anxiety (with a therapist, in your own time, or somewhere in between)
👉 You know *something* is going on under the hood, but you can't quite name it
👉 You want to understand your anxiety better so you can actually make progress - not just manage it forever
The Anxiety Profile is designed to show you what's really driving your anxiety, so your therapy/healing work becomes a lot more targeted.
Less guesswork. More getting on with it.
If that sounds like something you need right now, comment ANX below or DM me and I'll add you to the list.
The best business decision I've made isn't a strategy. It's having a co-founder who's done their inner work.
What I love about my relationship with @jjstenhouse is that we're both Glitter Balls. If you know the Ladder of Growth, you'll know exactly what that means.
If you don't (see 1st comment) - the short version is that we've both done so much inner work (that actually worked!) that we just don't get triggered by anything.
We can be who we are, say what we need to say, without any of that background noise of ... will they take this the wrong way... will they react... will they go quiet and stew on it for three days.
We can just say what needs to be said. And everything is just so easy going.
That might sound like a small thing. It really isn't.
What's also brilliant - and this is the bit that I love - is that we can call each other out on our crap... just like you might tell someone they have a stain on their top (who gets offended at that? No-one.).
And we can actually do the healing on each other if something comes up that we can't do on ourselves.
So if either of us hits a block/fear/sabotaging pattern, we can spot it, tune into it, and help each other move through it. If one of us needs the morning to work on something internally, that's just... fine. Completely fine.
Because we both understand that the inner work IS the work. It's not a detour from it.
It's always been a vision of mine to have a board/co-founder/team like this... from the early days of @head_trash when I was concocting my business vision.
I've worked with people (as you have I'm sure) where so much of my energy was going into managing their potential internal responses. Constantly running this background calculation of... how do I say this... what if they think that... how do I position this so they don't take it the wrong way...
And then dealing with the fallout when they did anyway. The stewing. The festering. The conversation you then have to have about the conversation you already had.
It's EXHAUSTING. And it's such a waste. Of time, of energy, of focus that should be going into the actual work.
None of that shows up with JJ. Not because we're some kind of perfect partnership - but because we've both worked on our shit. And that changes everything about how fast you can move and how much you can actually get done.
People keep asking me how JJ and I are moving so fast with Ladder of Growth. And yes, AI is a big part of it - we're building things with Claude and Cowork that would have taken a team of ten a year ago.
But honestly? The bigger factor is that we're not wading through each other's crap. We're not losing mornings to emotional fallout. We're not tiptoeing. We're just... building.
That's not nothing. That's actually enormous.
I think about my CEO and business owner clients and how much of their days get eaten by exactly this.
Having to rejig how they say something, manage the emotional weather of the room, deal with a member of staff who derailed an entire meeting just by reacting - and the actual agenda item that needed doing didn't get done.
I had a client tell me about exactly this recently. A manager whose emotional response to something fairly minor just swallowed the whole meeting whole. My client spent the rest of the day on the fallout instead of the work.
That's not a performance problem. That's a head trash problem.
And it's so common that most leaders just absorb it. Accept it as the price of having people. Build it into their mental load without ever quite naming it.
It doesn't have to be like that.
I'm aware not everyone gets to choose a co-founder who's a glitter ball. Or hire a full team of Snooker Balls.
The world doesn't quite work like that yet.
But the fact that it's possible - that working relationships can genuinely be this clean and this easy and this productive - feels worth saying out loud.
Because most people don't know what they're missing until they've experienced it.
I didn't.
More on the Bouncy Balls, Snooker Balls and Glitter Balls in first comment - because if you're a leader dealing with the emotional weather of your team, there's a framework for that.
