Spent way too long building a model to predict World Cup winners. It failed miserably.
What I didn't see coming: getting rich historical match data for backtesting was the hardest part of the whole thing.
End result — a model slightly worse than a coinflip.
Bright side: I picked up some genuinely new probabilistic concepts along the way.
We're migrating to ARC — Circle's new EVM chain.
A few things that make it the right fit for ATC:
→ Fully US-accessible. No geo-block.
→ Built by Circle, the most regulated stablecoin issuer in the US
→ Native gas token is USDC — members never need ETH or a bridge
→ Full EVM compatibility — Solidity, Viem, Foundry all just work
The USDC-as-gas thing deserves its own tweet.
On every other chain, you explain to new members: "You need ETH for gas. Bridge it first. Then buy the token."
On ARC: "All you need is USDC. You probably already have it."
For an educational community onboarding developers, that UX difference is enormous.

Building in public: Hyperator — the Hyperliquid Operator.
The simplest Hyperliquid bot that does something real. ~3 files, 2 deps, trades HYPE-USDC, logs every decision to SQLite. Testnet + dry-run by default so you can't blow up on day one.
It's the free on-ramp to the Algo Traders Club curriculum — the thing that makes you literate before you build for real.

Hyperliquid specifics baked into the spec:
• coincurve required (signing speed)
• always pass since on fetch_ohlcv
• limit orders only
• price_to_precision before submit
Gotchas in the PRD so you don't learn them from a 3am stack trace.
