Bugün İstanbul’da Pakistan, Suudi Arabistan ve Mısırlı mevkidaşlarımla gerçekleştirdiğimiz R4 toplantısının ardından; Birleşik Krallık, Fransa, Almanya ve İtalya Dışişleri Bakanlarının katılımıyla, sekiz ülkeyi bir araya getiren önemli bir etkinliğe ev sahipliği yaptık.   Orta Doğu ile Avrupa’nın birbiriyle bağlantılı tüm sorun ve çatışmalarını ele aldık.   Anlaşmazlıkların bölgesel sahiplenme anlayışıyla, diyalog ve diplomasi yoluyla çözüme kavuşturulması konusunda mutabık kaldık.   Toplantıya katılan ve katkı sağlayan kıymetli dostlarıma teşekkür ediyorum.   Öncülük ettiğimiz bu girişimin süreklilik kazanmasını, bölgemizde ve ötesinde barış ve istikrara katkı sağlamasını temenni ediyoruz.   Türkiye olarak iki coğrafya arasındaki merkezi konumumuzla, bölgesel meselelerin çözümünde sorumluluk almaya devam edeceğiz.

A delegation of senior Turkish naval officers visited Syria’s port city of Latakia to support efforts to strengthen the capabilities of the Syrian Navy. The delegation included Istanbul Shipyard Commander Rear Admiral Erdinç Yetkin, Naval Forces Logistics Chief Rear Admiral Timur Yılmaz and Naval Training and Education Commander Rear Admiral Yücel Darcan, along with representatives of Turkish state defense firm ASFAT. Talks covered ship maintenance, repair and modernization, construction of new vessels, individual and team training, and upgrades to port infrastructure. The two sides carried out inspections and agreed on a memorandum of understanding and a roadmap for cooperation.
