Damn, the event I went to yesterday in ikoyi really made me realize that people have serious motion offline too.
You see someone online with 200 followers and think you know how much they’re doing, then you meet them in person and realize they have even more motion offline.
And honestly, the typical tech events aren’t even the ones where you necessarily connect the most.
Sometimes it’s the smaller events with fewer people where you actually build meaningful relationships.
But if you’re going to these big events, please don’t just go there to take pictures and leave.
Go with a plan.
Get contacts.
Share value.
Tell people what you do.
Learn what they do.
Follow up.
Because you never know who you’re standing next to.

Day 5: Introduction to DeFi
On Day 5, we introduced participants to Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and how blockchain is changing the way people interact with financial services.
We started with the basics:
🔹 What is DeFi?
DeFi refers to financial services built on blockchain networks, allowing people to access services such as trading, lending, borrowing, and earning without depending entirely on traditional financial institutions.
🔹 CEX vs DEX
We looked at the difference between Centralized Exchanges (CEXs) and Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs).
Another powerful session on Defi, technology with time has transformed so many things including the change in form of trade. I can't imagine the benefit of Web3 but I'll be active to gain my share from now on🤗

When someone tells you they have lost their job, you do not have to find the positive angle in the first thirty seconds.
They may still be trying to understand what happened.
Ask what would help. If you know an opening, send the actual role. If you can make an introduction, offer it. If they want to talk without receiving a plan, let them.
'Everything happens for a reason' can wait. So can the story about the person who became a millionaire after being laid off.
Maybe this person will be fine. Maybe the next few months will be hard.
For now, they trusted you with difficult news. Meet them there first.
