29 October 1998. Space Shuttle Discovery blasted off with 77-year old John Glenn on board, making him, at the time, the oldest person to go into space. Glenn spent most of his time in space participating in investigations on the effect of space travel on the ageing process.

A supermarket in Essex, England, has triggered outrage after men and women were seen standing in sex-segregated lines. British shoppers were also told to comply with the rule and are now angry, saying they shouldn’t have to follow Islamic Sharia in their own country.

Tonight, my family and I experienced something no family should ever have to go through. Our restaurant, Singh’s Dining Restaurant in Hammersmith, was attacked by a group of Islamists. We had been receiving death threats every single day, including one that specifically warned us that 28 October would be our last day. We raised our concerns, and the @metpoliceuk were aware of the threats. Yet tonight, we found ourselves facing the very nightmare we had feared. My daughter had to close the shutters just in time. I cannot even begin to imagine what might have happened if she hadn’t acted so quickly. We could have lost someone in our family tonight. The attackers reportedly tried for a long time to break through the shutters to get inside, leaving shortly before the police arrived. We have serious concerns about how the attackers knew when to leave, and whether they were alerted before the police arrived. These concerns deserve a thorough and transparent investigation. Tonight, I am left facing a heartbreaking decision, Do we keep our doors open and risk our lives, or do we shut down the business we have worked so hard to build because I don’t serve Halal food. No family should ever have to choose between their livelihood and their safety. No one should have to live in fear in their own place of work. I am angry. I am heartbroken. I am frightened for my family’s safety. I am calling on the @metpoliceuk to take these threats seriously, investigate tonight’s attack thoroughly, and ensure that my family is protected. Please share this post. Let our voices be heard. We should not have to wait for someone to lose their life before our safety is taken seriously. Enough IS Enough. #Justice

🚨ATTENTION: Please Help Me Find This Father. This hardworking dad of four just trying to make a living was harassed at his job by a nuisance TikTok influencer. He was then posted online to be mocked by the public. America is facing a crisis and people are going to start snapping. People work too hard in this country and deserve better than this. This man's main priority is providing for his family and we want to help him do that. Too many use the internet for bad, let's use it for good so we can help make his life better. I want to set up a GiveSendGo for him. If you can help me get in contact, shoot me a DM.

Amy Winehouse and the coconut vendor she saved in Saint Lucia. In 2009, during a long stay on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, Amy Winehouse ran into Julian Jean-Baptiste on the beach, a 45-year-old coconut vendor who earned barely one pound a day. The man was suffering from a severe, life-threatening hernia, with no financial means to pay for the surgery he needed. Amy, without making a public fuss about the gesture, sent her bodyguard with the money to cover the medical expenses, which totaled over 4,000 pounds. Julian underwent surgery on July 1, 2009, and later said that the procedure literally saved his life, something he otherwise would never have been able to afford. After the successful surgery, Amy continued to check on his condition regularly. When he tried to thank her and return the favor in some way, she flatly refused, responding with a simple smile that no thanks were necessary.

In DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW, a small-town murder unleashes a chilling tale of revenge from beyond the grave. It blends creeping rural isolation, an eerie atmosphere, and one of TV horror's most unsettling scarecrow figures. 🎃

Don’t EVER tell me that Flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar isn’t a hero, or that it was just an ‘altercation’ in the cockpit. The man is a genuine HERO who saved 174 lives from a scumbag Islamic jihadist who wanted to end 174 lives.

On April 6, 1970, two American combat photographers rode motorcycles down Highway 1 in Cambodia, straight toward an enemy roadblock. One of them was Sean Flynn. He was 28, and he was Hollywood royalty. His father was Errol Flynn, the swashbuckling movie star. Sean had acted as a young man too. He walked away from all of it. He went to Vietnam with a camera instead. He became one of the gutsiest photographers of the war. He went out with the troops, got as close to the fighting as anyone, and was wounded in the knee in 1966. He kept going back. Riding beside him was his friend Dana Stone, 30, from a small town in Vermont. Another fearless combat photographer, now shooting for CBS News. His wife was waiting for him back in Saigon. That spring, the Vietnam War had spilled into Cambodia. North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces were moving through the countryside. That morning, a group of journalists drove out of Phnom Penh toward the Vietnamese border. Up the road, they spotted a communist checkpoint. Most of the reporters stayed back. Sean and Dana wanted the shot. Maybe even an interview with the guerrillas themselves. Before they rode off, a colleague snapped one last photo of the two of them on their bikes. Then they rode forward. Witnesses watched as men at the checkpoint took their motorcycles and marched them off into the treeline. They were never seen again. Over the next few months, dozens of journalists were captured in Cambodia. Intelligence reports later suggested Sean and Dana were alive and held prisoner well into the next year. The most widely believed theory is that the Viet Cong held them for a year, then handed them over to the Khmer Rouge, who killed them. Nobody knows for sure. Sean's mother spent a fortune searching. She kept his apartment exactly as he left it for more than 20 years, waiting for him to come home. In 1984, she finally had him declared dead. In 2010, a team dug up remains in Cambodia they believed were Sean's. DNA said they weren't. 56 years later, neither man has ever been found. The son of a movie legend and a kid from Vermont rode into the jungle chasing one more picture. And the war swallowed them both.

On January 23, 1989, Ted Bundy had less than 24 hours to live. He had confessed to killing 30 women across seven states. He escaped from custody twice. He defended himself in court, and the judge who sentenced him to death told him he would have made a good lawyer. Outside Florida State Prison, a crowd was already gathering. People were selling T-shirts. Some brought frying pans to bang when the news came. In the video below, the most notorious serial killer in American history sits across from psychologist James Dobson and tries to explain where it all came from. Not with a murder. With a magazine. He said he grew up in a good Christian home. Two loving parents. He called himself a normal person with good friends and a normal life. Then, as a boy, he found pornography. And like an addiction, he said, he kept craving something harder. Something more vivid. Until looking was no longer enough. He speaks calmly. Almost politely. The voice of a former law student who knows how to hold a room. Then he says the line nobody expected from him. "I think society deserves to be protected from me and from others like me." At 7:16 the next morning he was executed in the electric chair. The crowd outside cheered. People still argue about this tape. Some call it the most honest thing he ever said. Others call it his final manipulation, one last story from a man who lied to everyone for 15 years. Was this a real confession, or the last performance of a born liar?
