Victoria and I were in Brownsville today for Brownsville ISD’s State of the District, hearing about the district’s accomplishments, priorities, and continued commitment to providing students with a quality education.
It was wonderful to see the talented students showcase their abilities and hear from Superintendent Dr. Timothy E. Cuff about the work being done across the district. Thank you to Dr. Cuff, the school board, educators, and staff for their dedication to the students and families of Brownsville ISD. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for these young Texans!

Yesterday, my Cameron County District Director, Zeke Silva, joined the Elsa Volunteer Fire Department in celebrating a $10,000 grant awarded through the Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program, a partnership between State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council.
This funding will help provide essential equipment to keep our volunteer firefighters safe and better equipped to respond when emergencies strike. Congratulations to the entire Elsa Volunteer Fire Department, and thank you to everyone who helped make this possible! Our volunteer firefighters dedicate their time to protecting South Texas families, and they deserve the equipment and resources to do their jobs safely.
