Another extreme windstorm is impacting Alberta for the second time in four days, causing significant damage, including downed power lines and damaged poles. Our crews are mobilized and working to restore power safely and quickly as conditions allow.
Given the extent of the damage, some customers are expected to remain without power overnight. If you are currently without power we are asking you to prepare for an extended outage. As we continue to triage and assess damage, estimated restoration times will be updated on our outage map. To everyone impacted, we know this is difficult, particularly after another significant windstorm. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our crews continue restoration efforts.

At AltaLink, looking out for one another is more than a value, it’s part of our culture. That culture was on display at the Working Stronger Conference, hosted by the Canadian Mental Health Association where our own Dane Harrison, Transmission Lineman and one of the key organizers of the BuddyUp program, shared how AltaLink employees developed an initiative that is helping spark meaningful conversations about mental health both within our organization and beyond.
We're proud to foster a workplace where people are encouraged to check in, speak up, ask for help, and support one another through life's challenges. Thank you, Dane, for representing AltaLink and sharing the impact of BuddyUp with others committed to building healthier, more supportive workplaces.

Had the pleasure of participating in the annual @AltaLink Let's Connect event in YYC this week, and continue important conversations around how we shape Alberta's electricity future.
Thank you to AltaLink President Paul Lee, and Vice President of External Affairs Cayla Saby for having me and putting on a great event.
Today, we welcomed customers, industry partners and government representatives to AltaLink’s 12th annual Let’s Connect event.
Highlights included a fireside chat with the Hon. @RjSigurdson, Minister of Affordability and Utilities, and an industry panel featuring Paul Lee from AltaLink, Aaron Engen from @theAESO, Janine Sullivan from @FortisAlberta and Mike Shaw from @ATCO Energy Systems, discussing how collaboration can help enable Alberta’s next chapter of growth and opportunity.
Our control centre continuously monitors conditions across our system. During extreme and dangerous fire weather conditions, where the threat of sparking a wildfire is extreme, we may proactively shut off power to our impacted transmission lines until conditions are safe to turn it back on. This is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff, and is a last resort measure to ensure public safety. Learn more at altalink.ca/wildfiresafety
