Accurate information matters, especially when adults make informed choices about nicotine products. A recent paper in the Journal of the American Medical Association that detailed why and how physicians might recommend e-cigarettes to adult smokers looking to quit was covered by the Washington Post. In his latest article, Altria Fellow @MohamadiSarkar addresses some of the hesitancy some physicians may still have about these recommendations, exploring the science around tobacco harm reduction. With nicotine pouches also in mind, Mohamadi reiterates the importance of helping adult nicotine consumers understand differences in risk across products. Why would a nicotine company fund a website that’s designed to connect adult nicotine consumers looking to quit tobacco to the resources that might help? Because if an adult nicotine consumer decides to quit, finding trusted support should be easy. That's why we’re committed to providing adult consumers access to that information, and have supported the QuitAssist® website for 25 years through three of our nicotine companies. A large illicit market threatens effective regulation and public health. 🗞️ #didyouknow: in 2025, FDA and CBP seized more than 4 million misdeclared e-vapor products in their largest operation to date. Most adults agree: rules matter in a regulated market. Enforcement matters more. Read our position on combatting illicit trade: ow.ly/TSQr50ZXS3Q

Responsibility starts in the field. In 2025, 100% of our contracted U.S. tobacco grower base participated in the GAP Connections (GAPC) Tobacco Certification Program, with more than 2,000 growers certified across 160,000+ acres. The program requires annual training on responsible agricultural, environmental and labor practices, a self-assessment and an independent third-party farm audit. It is how we set consistent expectations and verify them across our supply chain. Building stronger communities takes people willing to lend their time, skills and energy. Kyle Ligos, Senior Manager, Corporate Responsibility, recently volunteered with Project:HOMES, supporting hands-on work that helps create safer, more stable homes for neighbors in our community. “Volunteering with Project:HOMES is a reminder that meaningful change starts with people coming together.” Thank you, Kyle, for putting our commitment to community into action. #Altria #EmployeeVolunteer #CommunityImpact #ProjectHOMES

What happens when the majority of a market operates outside regulatory oversight? Today, more than 70% of the U.S. e-vapor category operates outside FDA oversight. Congress designed the regulated marketplace to provide scientific review, accountability and public health protections. When illicit products proliferate, those safeguards are diminished. Addressing illicit markets and restoring a fully functioning regulated marketplace is an important part of creating opportunities for harm reduction while protecting consumers. #FDA #PublicHealth #RegulatedMarket #HarmReduction

A resilient value chain depends on the next generation of agricultural innovation. We partnered with seven universities across U.S. tobacco regions to sponsor 38 research projects focused on crop quality, profitability and reduced environmental impact, 15 outreach programs for growers and communities, and 77 undergraduate and graduate scholarships. Roughly 75% of our research and agronomy spend supports grower sustainability and financial viability, because investing in growers today builds a stronger supply chain tomorrow. Helping adults who smoke move away from cigarettes remains one of the greatest opportunities to reduce tobacco-related disease. Scientific evidence supporting smoke-free alternatives continues to grow. But scientific evidence alone is not enough. To realize the potential of harm reduction, science must translate into real-world access through a functioning, regulated marketplace. That means: - Continued scientific advancement - Timely review of science-backed products - Access to authorized alternatives for adults who smoke When these elements work together, scientific progress can deliver meaningful public health benefits. September is We Card Awareness Month, a reminder of the important role retailer training and compliance play in helping prevent underage access to tobacco and nicotine products. For more than 30 years, Altria has supported the We Card program and its efforts to equip retailers with training, educational resources and age-verification tools that help reinforce responsible retailing. With our support, We Card has trained hundreds of thousands of retail employees and provided resources to retailers across the country. Preventing underage access is a shared responsibility. That's why we're proud to support programs like We Card that help retailers stay informed, strengthen compliance efforts and reinforce age-verification practices at the point of sale. Today, we broke ground on more than a new building. We celebrated the people, partnerships and community that continue to make Hopkinsville, Kentucky, an important part of U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company's American story. Joined by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, state and local leaders, employees and community partners, we marked an important milestone with the groundbreaking of Baker Two, a major expansion of USSTC's Hopkinsville campus. Baker Two will create more than 200 new Kentucky jobs and approximately double USSTC's workforce in the state. For more than 200 years, USSTC has been part of America’s manufacturing and agricultural tradition. Our Hopkinsville presence dates back to 1916, and Baker Two represents the next chapter in that enduring story: a continued investment in American manufacturing, Kentucky agriculture and the communities where our employees live and work.
