It's official - we've been awarded the UK's first spaceport licence 🙌
“#Cornwall is now ready to open up the use of #SpaceForGood & support the UK industry in harnessing the power of space to benefit life on Earth” @MelsGoodSpace
@CornwallCouncil @Newquay_Airport @spacegovuk
We’ve issued the UK’s first spaceport licence, marking a historic moment for the UK space industry 🚀
@SpaceCornwall has received its licence after showing it meets requirements on safety, security, environment, and other aspects needed to operate.

BBC Local Radio gets 4.6% of the licence fee. Out of £159 a year, that’s £7.36 per household per year – the price of a couple of posh coffees - for around 100 hours of original, locally made programming every week on 39 stations. 64% of weekday daytime output is speech content.
Dire! Who dreamt up this scheme? Did anyone ask the communities that local radio serves what they thought? Probably not as they knew what the answer would be! Kernow radyo hir!

What is govt waiting for? All our great forests to go up in smoke? #climate #ClimateActionNow Our land is drying. The solution is clear @ChrisGPackham @MarkCocker2 We must reverse 50 years of gas-powered agriculture and restore diverse, carbon-rich landscapes #farming

On this week's Friday Five, @LizEarleMe is joined by Graham Harvey (@supercarbon), an environmental campaigner and former agricultural story editor at The Archers, to discuss the downsides of fertilisers and the upsides of regenerative farming for us all. lizearlewellbeing.com/podcas…

I love this.
It goes some way towards balancing the insane one sided vegan BS being fed to our kids everywhere they go.
A kids book about regenerative farming.
I just bought one for Max (9 months)

A plea to folks: if you see a single chough & it is calling persistently, please move away as you are too close to him and probably his nest site. Please give choughs space at this time of year. Thank you!

Want more? My memoir ‘Underneath The Archers’ is currently crowd-funding @Unbounders. It’s filled with glorious tales from the countryside, inspired by more than 30 years writing for the world’s longest running drama – The Archers. bit.ly/3jymjNz

Back when I wrote for #TheArchers I found great inspiration for the teenage Pip in a woman called Elizabeth Henderson. She'd been a teenager almost 70 years earlier but like Pip all she’d wanted in life was to be a farmer @BBCTheArchers @the_archers #farm

🇬🇧 Today is the 40th anniversary of the start of the Falklands War.
We remember all who served, those who were injured and those who lost their lives during the conflict. Lest we forget.

Oh no! How can this have happened? Do we/@mischiefcomedy need an independent enquiry?

This farmer showed herb-rich grassland better than chemicals in making land fertile #nature #climate advised farmers not to waste money on fertilisers. 122 years later scientists proved he was right @suepritch Call it a new theory of soils but smart farmers knew it a century ago
