Heading to the kitchen, the toddler at her heels, Aimee set up a little step stool to help Shiloh stand at the counter. “You wanna help me make lunch?” she asked encouragingly, starting to get out the ingredients for their tuna sandwiches.

Aimee couldn’t help but smile. She knew he was a good boy, even if a bit of a handful sometimes. “Hey, you ready for some lunch?” she asked as he calmed down.

The toy truck hits the side of her arm as she looks over at the boy she’s babysitting for the afternoon. “Hey! No, that’s not nice,” she explains calmly but firmly. “We don’t throw things at people.”

“Ohmygosh, it’s so pretty!”

God, yes. You have to savor every second.

“Mmf!” she laughs as the toddler grabs her face. “You’re grabbing my nose? You’re silly!”

That is /absolutely/ a mom win!

Aimee puts down the remote, hearing the clamor outside in the dark. “Darn raccoons…” Walking out to the porch, she flips on the porch light and freezes. That’s not a raccoon…
