In honour of the last #ThinSectionThursday of my MSc project. Here are my two favourite thin section images of sandy contourites in Morocco. Spot the 🥐!
This has been my favourite mountain fact since I found out while trekking to the Whymper Refugio during a @weareworldchall trip to Ecuador in 2016!
The highest mountain in the world is Mt Everest, right?! Well, if you count the actual mountain rather than from sea level Mauna Kea is the highest. If look for the point that's furthest away from the earth's center it's Chimborazo. Source: buff.ly/2zZ1lPt
If you happen to know a postgraduate student or recent postgraduate graduate; who focused on the future of the energy for their thesis. Please encourage them to take a look at this fantastic opportunity run by AAPG Student Chapters London and @GEOExPro.
Happy #thinsectionthursday! Recently I have been enjoying looking at Miocene sandy contourite channel deposits taken from Morocco. I am examining the porosity and permeability as well as the microfacies which are present.
The first #ThinSectionThursday of my masters project. Looking forward to identifying micro-facies seen in thin sections taken from contourites in Morocco. Microscope and thin sections from @FJavierHernnde2 @DriftersRHUL
Brilliant talk from Neil Hodgson on passive margins from Papua to Peru, as part of @AAPGEurope’s, Let’s Connect Series!
