Más información sobre el encuentro: ➡️ adiconference.org/ --- I will be participating as a plenary speaker at the upcoming Alzheimer's Disease International Global Conference 2026, taking place in Lyon, France, from 14–16 April. This conference brings together researchers, policymakers, healthcare leaders, civil society, and international organizations to address one of the defining challenges of our time: dementia and brain health. As populations age and neurological and mental health conditions continue to rise globally, the conversation can no longer remain confined to medicine alone. Brain health has become a strategic priority — closely linked to economic sustainability, social cohesion, intergenerational equity, and the resilience of our democracies. I look forward to contributing to this important international dialogue. More about the meeting: ➡️ adiconference.org/

Replying to @AlzDisInt
@AlzDisInt is deeply saddened by the passing of Pope Francis. We had a formidable advocate in the late Pope who was a defender of the elderly. In the picture the last letter of blessings he sent for our conference in Krakow. Pope Francis taught us so much. May he rest in peace.

We are running a mini campaign to highlight how access to new treatments for #alzheimers is forcing people - those who can afford it- to travel for them. Below -in the replies- quotes from medical professionals and people travelling - if you have a story please share it with us

Great day at the @istsupsan here with fellow speakers Matteo Cesari of @WHO and Emiliano Albanese. Great progress of Italy in the #dementia plan but a little still to be done!
Today, at the 17th Conference on ‘The Contribution of Centres for Cognitive Disorders and Dementia Centres in the Integrated Management of Patients', @PaolaBarbarino , CEO of ADI, spoke at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome, Italy. In her keynote speech, Paola highlighted both global and national advancements in dementia research and policy and called for increased investment and resources for dementia care and risk reduction campaigns in Italy. We are pleased that the Government of Italy acknowledged these areas for improvement. #DementiaPolicy #WhatsYourPlan #NationalDementiaPlan #Dementia #Italy

At #APRC24 meeting @emilyong67 reflects on why 65% of healthcare professionals globally believe #dementia is NOT normal ageing (in the absence of a cure many are reluctant to spell it out) and defines why it is important to have more advocates living with dementia in Asia Pac

1 of 2 ReNu Vohra from @ardsi has pointed out that in India they have changed the name of “memory clinics” to “cognitive disorders clinics” as symptoms are so much more than loss of memory, sensory and spatial loss for example. Can anyone else tell us about their country pls?
