At today's event organised by @IDSCS_Skopje & @kas_mkd Ambassador Rokas highlighted the importance of strengthening regional ties & building lasting partnerships. 🇪🇺 will continue investing in 🇲🇰 key road & rail links along Corridors VIII & X, + in energy & digital connectivity.
Ambassador Rokas at today’s parliamentary debate on strengthening the Ombudsman Office in 🇲🇰: "An effective protection of human rights & dignity depends on strong, independent institutions". He called on all stakeholders to use the dialogue to ensure an efficient Ombudsman Office
At today’s event on hospital management appointments, 🇪🇺 Ambassador Rokas stressed that senior positions must be filled based on merit, transparency, competence and experience to ensure institutions can deliver high-quality services.

EU accession & economic convergence go hand in hand. North Macedonia made important progress, including on digitalization & private sector development, with over €140 mil paid for reforms achieved under the Reform Agenda. Further reforms progress will bring more benefit.

Russia’s embassy accused France of violating international law after the French Navy boarded the DF Peak, an oil tanker linked to Russia's shadow fleet.
French authorities identified suspected false flag registration and links to sanctions circumvention.
Moscow is quick to invoke international law. Less eager to explain why the vessel’s registration was in question in the first place.

Russia’s shadow fleet helps sustain Russian oil exports and the revenues financing its illegal war against Ukraine.
The French Navy’s boarding of the DF Peak in the Indian Ocean illustrates how those arrangements are facing increasingly direct enforcement measures.
The more these vessels face legal action, the harder it becomes for Russia to keep its oil exports operating outside of international oversight.
