1/4 It seems fitting that a sitting Children's @UKLaureate should win the coveted Carnegie 2024, and that's exactly what @JosephACoelho has done, with his Theseus-based novel-in-verse, 'The Boy Lost in the Maze'. Incredibly, he's the first black person to win a Carnegie medal.
3/4 The award ceremony took place today at The Cambridge Theatre aka 'The Matilda Theatre' (because @MatildaMusical seems to have pretty much taken up residence there). As Lifetime Ambassador to the School Libraries Group of CILIP...
4/4 ...(the 'library union' which administers the awards), the Carnegies are particularly close to my heart because they're choen by librarians and 'shadowed' by children in schools. A big CONGRATULATIONS to everyone on both shortlists. @CILIPinfo @CILIPSLG
Congratulations, @EmmaJGrey and the three other finalists for Scotland's Library & Information Professional of the Year. Good luck one and all! @CILIPinfo
I’m really honoured and excited to have been shortlisted for Scotland’s Library and Information Professional of the Year 🥹 Thank you, @CILIPScotland! Congratulations to my fellow nominees 🥳 You’re all brilliant 🌟
1/2 Wonderful to hear @Jb5Jane's pupil, Reuben on @BBCr4today - whom I met at the Pupil Library Assistant of the Year Awards - talking about Blooms for Books which has raised hundreds of pounds to buy books for school libraries that need them. Amazing work. @plaa_uk @CILIPSLG
2/2 In return for a donation, you get a packet of sunflower seeds. I've planted mine. You can find out more at bloomsforbooks.co.uk/ If you're an author or illustrator, I'm sure they'd be happy to accept book donations, too... but be sure to check first! @PhilipArdagh @plaa_uk

Having exhausted the supply of TV shows she could star in from 'Line of Duty' to 'The Durrells', Keeley Hawes began appearing in Girls Own caption competitions, too! #GirlsOwnCC
As CILIP's School Libraries Group Lifetime Ambassador, I'm incredibly proud of all those pupil library assistants who entered and congratulation to the finalists. See you all soon! @uksla @CILIPSLG @CILIPinfo @NickPoole1 @AuthorsAloudUK @plaa_uk

Just completed Session 1 of the @OpenUni_RfP course! I'm school admin and help in the library, but also a book-loving Parent Governor who wants to know more about encouraging #readingforpleasure for my own children and the other 250ish in our school!
