For more than two months, I have been working on a truly horrific story about one of the gravest war crimes committed by the United States since Vietnam: The bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Iran. It was one of the first targets struck in the opening hours of the war on February 28, 2026.
At least 156 people were killed in the U.S. cruise missile strikes—120 of them were children and 26 were teachers. We spoke to survivors, first responders, parents, doctors, teachers, psychologists, and other witnesses. Some of them had never before shared their experiences of that day.
It would be impossible to do justice to what happened in Minab that day with words alone. In more than 25 years in journalism and reporting on war, I do not believe I have reported on a more heinous single crime.

~50,000 vehicles. 1.6 million images. About 3,300 cars a day. Peak day: 4,454.
Flock sold this as “license plate readers” with on-device encryption. The software on that box wasn’t just reading plates. It was tagging vehicles, bikes, and people. Dozens of shots of a single car. Bumper stickers. Even an American flag patch on a motorcycle bag.
They put the encryption key on the camera. Then acted shocked when somebody opened it.
We're reaching the point where centrist Dems are trying to link a Muslim Twitch streamer they don't like to Osama Bin Laden, which is a level of open Islamophobia that I haven't seen from them in some time.
Also CNN did famously interview Bin Laden.

One day after insurgent @NidaAllam lost by ~1,020 votes in NC04, after millions of dollars from AIPAC and AI were spent against her, the PAC that @AOC organized to back insurgent candidates, called Courage to Change, sent out a fundraising email talking about how hard it is for such insurgents to run when billionaires are coming after them.
That’s true! Except AOC did *not* back Allam, even though Bernie Sanders and Justice Democrats did, and Bernie even rallied with her in NC.
A nod from AOC could well have been worth 1,000 votes.
Nobody on staff, including the boss, apparently thought to say, well, the entire progressive movement except for us got behind Nida Allam and she just lost by a crushingly small margin to AIPAC and AI, so maybe let’s not fundraise today on the idea that we are the ones who are going to be in the streets backing insurgents.
