The palaeontologist was determined that non-scientists could share in his passion. To him the extinct arthropods were not just beautiful. They were also useful econ.st/4kEwJZn

Welcome back to #fossilfriday Here is a beautiful section of seafloor I collected from the Upper Ordovician (Katian) Decorah Formation in Jefferson County, Missouri. As you can see, this slab has beautiful Brachiopod shells all over it!

VERY successful trilobite hunt down to Weiss Lake, Alabama along the Coosa River. Brought tons of little Cambrian critters back. They are all wrapped up. Tomorrow begins the process of letting the shale dry out and stabilizing the trilobites.

I had a pretty rad time at the Bell Point Gem and Mineral Show today. Bought a few neat minerals and fossils. It was good to see some old and new vendors. I really wish I could have afforded half of what I really wanted like that Sperssartine Garnet. Nevertheless, it was fun! – at Duluth, GA

Time for another Guess The a gem!! What mineral or variety do you think this gem is? Hint: this colour combination is uncommon for a very common mineral. #GuessTheGem #GeoscienceTwitter
