Check out this tour of our incredible school Theatre! Thanks to all those who contributed in sharing a little bit of the magic of being involved in the Arts here at Ampleforth College. 🎭@AmpleforthColl #compassforlife Theatre Tour 2022 youtu.be/WKCH7z0u5zA
Alex Harvey from Ockham’s Razor theatre company came in to teach our students how to reproduce flying on stage through lifts and physical action. Students spent the morning learning various techniques, this required strength, team work and most importantly trust. @OckhamsRazorUK
Rehearsals are well underway for this term’s play. Choreography upstairs and sword fighting downstairs, it’s great for the theatre to be alive with activity with all year groups involved and working together.
Auditions are underway for this term’s play. Good to see some new faces joining the old hands on the ACT stage. Details of the production coming soon.
All ready for the activity fair @AmpleforthColl and the start of another year of exciting theatre! #compassforlife
Well done to our Yr10 Drama students who completed their IGCSE monologue exam. They all worked incredibly hard on their performances. @AmpleforthColl
Huge congratulations to the cast and crew of this year's Exhibition Play 'The Wizard of Oz' for a successful run of performances. Amazing achievement for such a young cast. @AmpleforthColl
A sneak peek of the upcoming Exhibition play as Green Room paint the stage. Details to follow soon. @AmpleforthColl #Compassforlife
Final post for culture week, we'd like to celebrate the work of those offstage. Friday is a busy day in the theatre with our Green Room activity group working on the staging for the plays and of course the tradition of #jaffacakefriday. We couldn't produce our plays without them.
For day 4 of Culture Week @AmpleforthColl, let's look to the bard with a selection of Shakespeare productions through the years. Recognise anyone you know? #ThrowbackThursday
As part of Culture Week @AmpleforthColl, we celebrated the annual Theatre Dinner. Mr Mutton quoted Oscar Wilde "I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being"

This week is Culture Week at the College. The Theatre has been at the heart of the college for over a century. Countless students have tread these boards and become part of the ACT family.
A few more photos from our recent Little Shop of Horrors to mark the start of the week.

The theatre was once again pleased to provide lighting and projections to support the carol service. Adding colour to a space can transform how it feels making the service a popular event. @AmpleforthColl
