Thank you @CSAssam_ Ravi Kota ji, for your support and the opportunity to take LODESTAR forward for Guwahati. We look forward to working with the Government of Assam to make this vision a reality. @IITGuwahati
Held a meeting with Prof. Anamika Barua and Prof. Debanga Raj Neog, Principal Investigators, IIT Guwahati, and the LODESTAR team, along with senior officials from ASDMA, GMDA, Water Resources Department and other concerned stakeholders, to review the roadmap for operationalising the LODESTAR dashboard for Guwahati over the coming year. LODESTAR, developed under the bilateral India–Netherlands initiative, is a low-cost, multi-hazard Early Warning System that brings together technical innovation, AI/ML, process-based modelling, real-time sensing, computer vision and community engagement. Its knowledge and technical partners include IIT Guwahati, IIT Tirupati, IISc Bengaluru, Wageningen University, VHL Netherlands, MetaMeta and CSTEP, with support from NIDM, ASDMA and the Dordrecht Municipal Authority. For Guwahati, our objective is to develop an operational decision-support system that can identify where flooding is occurring in real time, anticipate where it may develop over 1, 3 and 6-hour horizons, and provide timely, actionable inputs for preparedness and response. A key priority over the coming year will be to build on the data and infrastructure already available across Government departments. The LODESTAR team will work with concerned agencies to integrate existing Government CCTV networks, rainfall and weather information, upstream hydro-meteorological data and other relevant datasets on a common platform, while addressing gaps in spatial coverage and data availability. The value of the platform will lie in bringing these different sources together: real-time sensor observations, rainfall forecasts, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, CCTV feeds and citizen-generated information, to provide a comprehensive picture of an evolving flood situation. We also discussed expanding the platform to cover other urban hazards, including landslide risk, with the aim of developing a comprehensive multi-hazard decision-support system for Guwahati. The larger objective is to strengthen Guwahati’s disaster management architecture by moving from a reactive approach to anticipatory action, enabling Government agencies, field teams and communities to act with better information and greater lead time. @CMOfficeAssam @sdma_assam @IITGuwahati @GMDAGuwahati

Still hard to believe we lost him. Zubeen Garg — a name we will never forget. A soul who lived only in the language of music. His absence will be deeply felt, but his songs will live on, reminding us of a talent we will always cherish! Rest in peace ...
Rest in eternal peace, Zubeen da. You gave our generation roots when we felt like we had none. You will live in our hearts forever, and generations will remember you for not just your music, but for your kindness and love for the people.

Thank you @Rajarshi for the opportunity! In my talk Beyond Models: Putting People at the Heart of Water Decisions, I’ll show how water governance must go beyond numbers—centering power, equity & lived realities to make decisions both scientific & just.

Thanks @orfonline for this opputunity. If you’re interested in virtual water flows (the hidden flows of water embedded in trade), you may like to read our article. It highlights the importance of viewing regional water security through the lens of these flows.
#India exports far more virtual #water than it imports putting its own #watersecurity at risk, and straining already fragile transboundary #rivers and aquifers: Mimika Mukherjee & @Ana_13b or-f.org/35296

Such a thoughtful and articulate individual—every day, he was the one we trusted for his measured responses and accurate information about what was truly happening. It is deeply unfortunate that he and his family has become a target of nationalist fanatics.
Sorry Vikram Misri Sir and family. The Frankenstein's monsters created through the hyper nationalism is slowly robbing the intellect and integrity of the country.

I couldn't agree more! Having visited Kashmir several times, I can attest to the warmth and beauty of its people. Let’s stand united against terrorism, not against any religion.

It is a nightmare to cross the saraigjat bridge, the road on the bridge is bad which is leading to heavy traffic, can it be resolved by simply repairing the road. Hope to get attention from @CMOfficeAssam
