Putin never publicly declared that Russia would conquer Kyiv in three days. That was a prediction made by Western analysts. When Kyiv did not fall within three days, some of those same Western commentators declared that Putin had failed to achieve his objective. In other words, they made the prediction, attributed it to Putin, and then judged Putin’s performance against their own prediction. Unfortunately, this is the level of public debate among some of Europe’s leading experts and policymakers. We have come a long way from the Enlightenment, critical thinking, and Aristotelian logic.

I am not sure these terms will be acceptable to President Putin who may well have some conditions of his own such as Ukraine will never admitted to NATO.
