Interesting that deep learning could make robotics more approachable. Imagine a small business being able to train a simple pick and place task to box up their products for an order rather than programming a set of movements. Most solutions don't need AGI, just repeatability.
I've been inspired by how my rapidly developing toddler learns and develops new skills on a daily basis. How teaching and curating a learning environment shapes her development, and how she applies these skills to new contexts. Could AI models learn the same way?
So proud of my team! We launched camera-based screen reader support for Live View Search in @googlemaps! Unlocking the ability for low-vision users to accurately identify places from across the street has never been done before and is a true superpower. ❤️ techradar.com/computing/soft…
Super proud of our teams' product announcements on #GoogleMaps yesterday at #SearchOn 2022: Immersive View and Search with Live View!
I'm so glad to see that our efforts to visualize information in the world and make it interactive will help people on the go! #AugmentedReality
Never thought I’d ever be quoted in TIME! I’m so proud that Live View made it on TIME’s Best Inventions of 2021 list! Hats off to the incredible cross-functional team at Google that made this a reality! #TIMEBestInventions #AugmentedReality time.com/best-inventions-202…
A toy that keeps kids calm. A mini-car that teaches coding. Next-gen noodles. Here are TIME’s 100 best inventions of 2021 ti.me/3bWjXDh
I'm extremely proud of the team's hard work on Live View as we've been recognized by Time Magazine as one of the Best Inventions of 2021!
We're honored that Live View has been named one of @TIME's Best Inventions of 2021.
To all the explorers who find their way with Google Maps: thanks for inspiring us. This one's for you. goo.gle/3c1EoP7 #TIMEBestInventions
Indoor navigation is something that #AR excels at. Without street names as identifiers, it's much easier to show rather than tell. Really proud of our team for working hard on this problem.
The magic of Live View now works indoors, so there’s no more missing the train because you can’t find the ticket booth.
Start using indoor Live View in Zurich’s top train stations this week and Tokyo’s next month. #GoogleIO
Ambient street names in AR was a surprisingly tough nut to crack for our design team, but immensely useful for orientation when using it out in the world.
Later this year, Live View will show you:
1️⃣ Street labels to help you navigate complex intersections
2️⃣ Places important to you like home, work, or your hotel
#GoogleIO
We announced a few new #AR features on Maps that we're working on last week at Google I/O! Way to go team!
We’re making it easier to explore with Live View.
Soon you’ll be able to access it right from the map to see helpful details about places nearby — like their busyness, reviews, photos, and more. #GoogleIO
As supply increases, Twitter bots will become less useful. Vaccinate The States is a project that aims to be the most comprehensive map of vaccine availability in the US. I’m proud to be helping drive their UX to ensure that things are easy to use. (Not easy with messy data!)
This is so hard to see happening over and over again. This man is in a coma for walking down the street just being Asian. #StopAsianHate
61-year-old Yao Pan Ma fighting for his life. Ma's niece says he immigrated to New York 2 years ago, moved to Harlem after their Chinatown apartment burned down, recently lost his job to COVID. Collecting cans was how he helped support his family. #StopAsianHate

Public health is everyone's responsibility. Check out what fellow Googler, @Andre_Le has done to support tens of thousands of people in his hometown via Twitter. Well done! #VaccinateCA
Eligibility is now open to all adults as of today. To reduce noise, I'm only retweeting from local agencies not covered by @CovidVaccineSD and @VaxSpotter. I'm also working with vaccinateca.com/ to improve their site in the long run. For a full list of resources, see this:
This is what it’s like to be Asian in America right now. This is happening to your co-workers, your grocery staff, your child care workers, your nurses, your firefighters, your neighbors, your friends. If you don’t do or say anything, you are like those guards that shut the door
🚨WANTED for ASSAULT: Do you know this guy? On 3/29/21 at approx 11:40 AM, in front of 360 W 43 St in Manhattan, the suspect punched and kicked a 65-year-old woman while making anti-Asian statements. Any info? DM @NYPDTips or anonymously call them at 800-577-TIPS.
Our team just announced some cool new features on Google Maps! So proud! 🎉 Also me: Man it's been a while since I've been on a plane... blog.google/products/maps/re… #AR #augmentedreality
