Great PhD completion seminar @UnimelbBME on magnetic tissue engineering- congratulations @4thMichaelMaier !
Shocking to see disparity in ARC DECRAs in engineering to men and women growing over the last 5 years. This despite strong numbers of female PhD grads, ROPE considerations, targeted support schemes. Much more work needed. Thank you for the analysis @purton_louise @GaetanBurgio
Replying to @purton_louise
ARC DECRA Engineering outcomes are here👇🏻. The men were big winners (they were awarded the majority of the DECRA funding). Significantly fewer women funded each yr (P<0.01). Note the increase in 2023 is due to discontinuation of Technology field which mainly moved to Engineering.

ALT This graph shows the numbers of men and women funded each year in the Engineering research field in the Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards (DECRA) fellowship scheme. More than 20 men funded each year and less than 10 women, P<0.01 men vs women. Non-binary data were not identifiable. Data are for fellowships commencing 2018-2023.
