Reminder: There is one single root cause of the war in Ukraine:
*Russia believes it has the God-given right to rule over the people of Eastern Europe and thus to decide who governs there or what alliances they join.*
Thats it.

Eiropas Savienība nevar sodīt Latviju par lēmumu apturēt tranzītu no Krievijas. Kādas kravas iet caur Latviju ir valdības lēmums. Ir nekorekti novelt atbildību uz ES.
Krievijas graudu tranzīts caur Latviju nevis samazinās, bet ievērojami pieaug. Premjers šodien norādīja, ka nevaram vienkārši noraut stopkrānu. Par tranzīta apturēšanu mūs var sodīt Eiropas Savienība. Šogad, graudu tranzīta sezonai vēl turpinoties, caur Latviju izvests vairāk nekā miljons tonnu Krievijas graudu. Daļa sabiedrības asi nostājas pret to, un rīt notiks protests pret asiņaino graudu tranzītu.

Serial killer with a gun demands potential targets give up their bulletproof vests to advance peace deal.
Jared Kushner seems to be saying here that the United States is prepared to put NATO's military presence in Eastern Europe on the negotiating table as part of a deal to end the war in Ukraine.
It means that that Putin's long-standing demands to demilitarise NATO's eastern flank could become part of the bargaining.
This has been coming for some time. Russia has demanded restrictions on NATO's military presence in Central and Eastern Europe for years.
And when Steve Witkoff met Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg last month, he said, according to Putin, that discussions about a new European security architecture should be part of the agenda.
This is alarming for Poland and eastern flank countries.
They will be asking what Washington might actually be prepared to concede in negotiations with Moscow.
Poland is currently negotiating with Washington over a permanent American military base on its territory.

Okay, I sat down and translated parts of yet another pompous statement from Jared Kushner about Trump’s incredible peace initiatives, explaining what his carefully worded euphemisms actually mean, so you don’t have to.
“…the need for a broader European security architecture that can help establish the conditions for lasting peace…”
= “Europe will have to completely capitulate to Putin, make him the master of the continent, and live under his dictates, because we’re absolutely itching to get our hands on Lukoil’s foreign assets.”
“For more than 30 years, Europe and Russia have struggled to establish a sustainable security framework.”
= “For decades, Europe and the entire West enjoyed peace and stability, until Putin, in his old age, suddenly got the itch to conquer Ukraine again, fucked it up spectacularly, and now somehow that’s everybody else’s problem.”
“Our objective is to develop practical arrangements that address the security concerns of all sides, reduce the risk of future conflict, and create a more stable and predictable security environment.”
= “You will be required to surrender everything and remain defenseless, while Putin will give you absolutely nothing in return and won’t be obliged to do a damn thing.”
“Decades of mistrust, competing security concerns, and the devastating consequences of this war make this an extraordinarily difficult challenge, but one that is essential to lasting peace.”
= “And we’re also going to blame you and Ukraine for Russia’s aggressive imperialism.”
“Any arrangements must fully respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independent decision-making of every nation.”
= “And Putin will decide where your sovereignty begins and ends, where your borders lie, and just how much independence you’re allowed to have.”
“Each country will retain authority over its own security and alliances, and no country would have a veto over another’s sovereign choices.”
= “Yes, unless Putin decides that you’re not actually a real country at all, but an inseparable part of Russia’s sphere of influence, and that your ability to defend yourself against an invasion constitutes an existential threat to Russia.”
“We will consult closely with our European partners on the sidelines and, if progress is made, aim to move toward a broader multilateral format with their direct participation.”
= “Nobody is going to discuss a damn thing with Ukraine or Europe. There won’t be, and never has been, anything here except our attempts to sell out and betray you to Putin for the highest possible price. And I’ll throw in a whole bunch of meaningless, boilerplate diplomatic phrases to make this bullshit look vaguely serious and respectable.”
“There are no easy solutions.”
= “Russia could simply get the hell out of Ukraine and stop launching wars of aggression whenever it wants, but that’s not what Putin is promising us money for.”
“We will see how these discussions develop and continue working intensively with all parties toward President Trump’s objective of a comprehensive and lasting peace.”
= “Of course, absolutely nothing will come of any of this, just as nothing has come of all the previous years of these ridiculous ‘negotiations,’ during which we’ve been actively helping Putin wage his war. But we couldn’t care less. That’s not what we’re here for.”

We need the Saudi files.
Mandem are something else over there.
A rich Saudi agreed to pay Lisa Ann $10 million for s*x. She said no. She'd heard what happens to p*rn stars who say yes: locked in a room for weeks, blood drawn every day, waiting to see which girl the sheikh picks tonight. And the ones who got paid? Wait till the airport.
Lisa Ann gets the same email over and over again. Men asking how much it would cost to sleep with her.
Her answer never changes. 10 million. Sometimes 5 million. A number so big the guy would need to start a GoFundMe.
Then one day a rich guy from Saudi Arabia writes back: easy.
And Lisa Ann says no.
"We're not doing the Saudi Arabia thing. We're not going to Dubai."
Because she's heard the stories. She says she's talked to every single girl who came back.
And this is what they told her.
You don't fly out for one night. You live there. For weeks on weeks.
In a house. Locked in a room.
Every day, he tests your blood. Every single day. Even if he never actually has s*x with you.
Because he has a harem. And he decides which girl gets which night.
Usually it's a sheikh. There's a prince over there too. But according to Lisa, the girls all go over for the same person.
The pay?
"Bags on bags on bags."
Some girls came home with a quarter of a million dollars. Some came home with $100,000.
And then there were the ones who didn't want that money going through a bank. They stuffed $30,000 in cash into a backpack and tried to fly home with it.
They got busted at the airport.
"What's this for? Drop your pants."
And they lost everything.
A locked room. A blood test every morning. A bag of cash at the end, if you make it through the airport.
Lisa Ann's answer to all of it:
"Not my jam."

The Chinese never walk away from a sector that they've dominated. They keep it, and just subsidize it more.
So, for example, in the early 2000s, the Chinese moved into textiles in a very big way. But Chinese labor costs have gone up by more than a factor of ten since then, and the Chinese are wildly, wildly noncompetitive in that sector now. Normally, that industry would have been offloaded to a less advanced economy ten years ago. That might have been Vietnam. Today, it might be Laos, Cambodia, or someplace in Africa. But the Chinese don't do that. They keep it all under lockdown.
You get local governments basically allocating 20 to 30% of their budgets to sectors that are noncompetitive because, from their point of view, it's the only way to generate revenue and taxes and keep their people employed. If you saw an outflow based on labor costs and labor productivity, easily half of the industries in China would pick up and leave. But they're basically not allowed to. Money just keeps getting pumped in.
So you get this debt bubble that is conservatively now 400% of GDP, just in the corporate space. And that's before you start considering that local governments have been borrowing money to keep those subsidies going, and the central government is now starting to get into that activity as well.
