Why is Michigan playing Houston in an exhibition in Grand Rapids?
Some answers here, including a full preview of the game.

It's officially official: Roddy Gayle Jr. will play for Michigan this season. It's not something he expected when we spoke in mid-June.

Fun to write this one. Always nice, as an honorary Yooper, to mention the U.P.

That game was definitely on my mind, and then Arizona lost several key players from that team. I expect them to be good obviously, just not top-10 good. But a preseason poll with all the transferring is really hard. Once they play games I am open to mass shuffling.
Spoke to Justin Joyner in advance of his first game as Oregon State's coach: At Crisler, against the defending national-champion Wolverines, a team he helped to win it all last season.

Great to see! I spoke to Greyson's parents for a story last season:

And I spoke to them again for my book, as the family attended the national championship. The Michigan-Greyson relationship is a special one.
So proud to officially welcome Greyson to the Michigan Basketball family 〽️🏀

Back at Crisler earlier than usual as the 2026-27 Wolverines made their public debut in an exhibition against Eastern Michigan.
The banner for last season's national championship went up in April.

Obviously I mentioned Morez's stare-downs in my book. They were a fun part of the championship run. Cool to see the team back in Ann Arbor last weekend.
