A very cool new 🦕paper led by Adams et al! Among the most famous of dinosaur tracks, the 'swimming sauropod' tracks collected by RT Bird from Texas in 1940 aren't actually swimming traces according to this new study! ('25 is shaping up to be a year for cool 🦕trace studies...)

Utah' Cambrian record is a critically significant record of the initial diversification of multicellular life. The story is largely ignored in Utah. @BLMUtah @utahgeological @UtahPaleo
🚨Paper alert🚨Meet Polygoniella turrelli, our latest addition to the remarkable Cambrian Marjum Biota of Utah. This 500-million-year-old sponge displays a complex anatomy that has no equivalent amongst poriferans of that time. @Ldelmouro @InvertebratePal doi.org/10.1098/rsos.231845

Spyway Quarry: UK's largest accessible dino track site, preserving multiple sauropod tracks from the Purbeck Limestone Group and establishing large sauropods in the area in the early Cretaceous (Berriasian). Also, Spyway is a killer tracksite name. #ichnology

Productive day at the Joggins Fossil Cliffs! Flipped over a rather unimpressive rock only to be pleasantly surprised to find this on the other side. A large tetrapod track including a manus and pes trace.
