I think the Fall of the Berlin Wall is the perfect Opposite of 9/11.
I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

My take on the Brazilian election is that I’m an American and I feel unequipped to comment on the politics of a place I am not of

Every conservative has one issue they’re super woke about and for me it’s the Native Americans. We accidentally killed like 98% of them with diseases and the ones who survived we broke promises with them again and again and destroyed their entire culture.

I’m also very torn on reservations for this reason. Many nations have horrible management by their tribal leaders and thousands suffer as a result. If the Feds retook control, ills might be availed. But we have agreed to respect sovereignty, we shouldn’t betray em again

To be very clear: I don’t buy the “noble savage” myth, the natives participated in ecological destruction, and were not a monolithic group. Obviously there were many tribes who committed great evils. My anger is for our constant promise-breaking with those who played fair

Anyone have any maps of the California trail as it headed out from Independence Missouri? Trying to write a novel where this information is necessary

Reading about what progressive episcopal bishops were doing in the 90s to conservative parishes and the stuff was so comically evil that it sounds fake.

Since a certain spreadsheet is being wildly circulated.
Interesting new stats from the ACNA. Dioceses which don’t ordain women as priests are growing in membership. Dioceses which DO ordain women as priests are losing members

And yet, an REC parish is mentioned in a Gordon Lightfoot song, and no C4SO parishes are…

My girlfriend’s grandpa was given a reprimand in the 80s because a congregant complained to the dean that he “preached the Bible like it was true”

Every time a continuing priest talks about the ACNA
This does not bode well for traditionalists in the ACNA
