Great quotes from Rob Burgess from @HeadForPoints in @thetimes today re @British_Airways club. Even as a frequent traveller, it's so difficult for a budget conscious, small biz owner to win or maintain status. Many of us with other schemes now. Some @traveloneworld, some not.

Never touched him Ref!!!!

Word of advice to @UKLabour ministers & @Conservatives shadow ministers appearing on @TimesRadio with @KateEMcCann & @StigAbell. You need to be across your brief and know the details. Too many of you have been caught out this past fortnight. It's not good enough. Wishy washy.

Congrats to the @5liveSport F1 team. Epic fill. Brilliantly done. @F1

Always easy to take a swipe on here so instead, heartfelt thanks to @TheAA_UK and mechanic Craig (Cambridge area) for rescuing my Mum today. Excellent service and much appreciated.

Some good numbers here @birmingham2026

The joy of ‘Instant Medals’. Great pic. @birmingham2026

First experience of @birmingham2026 is that the accreditation centre is superbly managed and has sensational staff / volunteers. They even held the camera up a bit so they didn’t photograph my chins!

Nearly 8 million watched live @commonwealthdel action in Australia for the first 3 days. About 360,000 doing the same behind a pay wall in the UK. The @thecgf argument that more content is available to view in the UK is a non-starter if no-one is bothering to watch it.

Bumped in to @samkendricks outside the @London_DL athlete hotel on Saturday evening. Lovely chat. For info, he was immaculately dressed. As they say in the States, good pants and sports jacket plus tie and the bonkersly good moustache. I am calling it now….Sam for Bond!!!

There is no disgrace losing to a better team. The frustration is that we allowed them to become the better team. Probably our best chance to get to a World Cup final for many a year.

Have watched, re-watched, listened and re-listened to as much as I can find on #MEXENG and I have to say that @bbcjohnmurray and @GKPaulRobinson were both absolutely masterful on the night.

Best TV interview I have seen for ages. @cathynewman and @AlistairCarns on @SkyNews. Great questions and honest answers. Refreshing!

Man of the match @wembleystadium today was stadium announcer @kristemple Imagine trying to make that turgid 98 mins sound remotely interesting. Fab job . As always.

When are @WorldRugby @European_Rugby et all going to stop the ludicrous situation of major decisions being influenced by what the local EP director shows (or does not show) on the stadium screens?? This is not the job of Event Presentation. It’s the job of the officials and TMO.

Question. As the Makerfield by-election is happening solely because of the internal workings of @UKLabour as is the resulting election for Mayor of Greater Manchester, are they paying for it? Or will we, as tax payers, through the local council / UK Govt stump up the cost??

It’s Saturday afternoon and…..no panic, no angst, no cold sweats. Why? Because we are already up!!! @CambridgeUtdFC
