Just concluded a productive meeting with U.S. Senator Chris Murphy at @MApNRomania. We discussed deepening 🇷🇴–🇺🇸 defence cooperation, regional security in the Black Sea, and strengthening NATO’s eastern flank. Romania remains a committed and reliable ally.
Glad to meet the delegation of the 🇨🇿 Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security, led by Chairman Pavel Fischer. We had a good discussion on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation & priorities for the upcoming #NATO Summit in The Hague.
Today I had a very good meeting with Michael Dickerson, 🇺🇸 Chargé d’Affaires a.i. I stressed the importance of the 🇺🇸 presence in 🇷🇴. Discussed also security on NATO’s Eastern Flank & our shared priorities for the upcoming @NATO Summit. 🇷🇴–🇺🇸 Strategic Partnership is strong!
Today we celebrate 145 years of diplomatic relations between 🇷🇴 and the 🇺🇸. We value our #StrategicPartnership, our excellent defense cooperation&the strong bond between our armed forces. We are looking forward to further consolidating our cooperation in these challenging times.
Honored to be present at Cincu, when 🇷🇴 President Nicușor Dan greeted His Majesty King Felipe VI of 🇪🇸, at Training Center, home to the 🇫🇷-led NATO BG. Also glad to reconnect with my 🇪🇸 counterpart, Margarita Robles, with whom I had a meaningful bilateral meeting.
Good meeting with my counterparts from 🇹🇷 Turkey and 🇧🇬 Bulgaria, we reaffirmed our commitment to NATO’s Eastern Flank. Our trilateral cooperation, including the MCM Black Sea initiative, strengthens deterrence & defence in the region ahead of #NATOSummit in The Hague.
I welcome the NAC’s decision to appoint Lt. Gen. Alexus G. Grynkewich as NATO’s next SACEUR. Romania 🇷🇴 looks forward to close cooperation in strengthening Allied defence.

Very good discussion today with @LucianFatu_Amb, President of the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Center, E-ARC, about the projects that E-ARC has in progress or in perspective, and the concrete support that the @MApNRomania can provide for their development.
I welcomed my Belgian 🇧🇪 counterpart, @FranckenTheo, at the 71st Air Base Câmpia Turzii. We discussed the security situation in the #BlackSea, the impact of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, and strengthening #NATO’s eastern flank.
I welcomed my Bulgarian 🇧🇬 counterpart, Mr. Atanas Zapryanov, for an official bilateral meeting. We reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening our defense cooperation and ensuring a strong #NATO Eastern Flank.
Today, I had a productive meeting with Turkish Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr. Şuay Alpay. We discussed #BlackSea security&bilateral cooperation.
