In my 40-plus years as an environmental campaigner, I’ve never come across a more obviously beneficial policy than nature restoration. There are few public policy interventions, if any, that come close to the return-on-investment protecting nature provides - it’s a no-brainer.
We can't retreat on the Nature Restoration Law. The natural systems we depend upon are in peril. To retreat now would be disastrous for nature and disastrous for public confidence in our European Institutions.
