Nothing much ever changes with the revisionist approach in the @churchofengland- 'unity' means everyone accepting that truth is plural i.e. everyone being revisionist. Really good from @AnglicanFutures

Charlie Bączyk-Bell persuaded the majority of the North Lambeth Deanery Synod that the overall unity of the Church of England requires greater inclusion for LGBTIQA+ people AND no alternative episcopal oversight for those who disagree. What happens next? anglicanfutures.org/post/rev…

We will be praying for you.
I'VE LEFT THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND.
After many years of concern about the direction of the CofE away from Biblical faithfulness on first order issues to the point where I think red lines were crossed, such as liturgical blessings for same-sex relationships indicating a de facto change of official doctrine, when the new Archbishop of Canterbury was appointed my wife and I decided we should leave. We think the ABC appointment epitomised the unbiblical trajectory of the CofE as a denomination due to her stances on key issues. We don't want to be identified with this. Although many local CofE congregations have a faithful Bible-preaching ministry (including the one we left), there is connection to and fellowship with structures that promote false teaching, and this troubled us.
Since May we have been attending an independent evangelical church. We quickly appreciated the simplicity of the worship ('Regulative Principle' of worship?), which we find greatly helps us to focus of Christ, His sacrifice for us, and on the preaching of the word.
I think that for those whose conscience would lead them to consider leaving the CofE, but episcopal church government and infant baptism are first order issues for them, meaning they'd wish to stay Anglican, Gafcon may now be the best option (if there's one within reach).
On baptism, I think a good Biblical case can be made for both positions, although I've long thought 'credo' has the edge. (I was baptised by immersion in the 1980's)

Great stuff as always from @AnglicanFutures.
Susie Leaf notes that when it’s own priests breaks its own rules on marriage and sexuality, some bishops bring cards and champagne rather than correction and discipline. She says the inconsistency must stop before it becomes an incoherent mess

Keep up to date with #synod . This is a summary of this morning's debate on this morning's debate about same-sex relationships and christian discipleship. Have the bishops maintained the "precariously stable place" on the issue? Updated with quotes. anglicanfutures.org/post/the…

I am deeply shocked and saddened by Ann Widdecombe’s death in such terrible circumstances. My prayers are with her family and friends at this traumatic time.
Ann had a deep Christian faith, which drove her strong principles in a career spent as a committed public servant. As I give thanks for her service to our country, my prayers are with all those who are in shock and grief, and all who put themselves forward for public office.
