Two Merseyside NHS Trusts have been given formal approval to merge. @sthknhs and @SONHStrust will form one new organisation - the Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. It will employ 9,000 staff across 17 sites including Whiston Hospital.
