We've been developing a site for Beyond the Rules that brings all of the work together from the last 3 yrs. It's still work in progress, but here she is!!:

‘The challenge is to improve the health of the planet at the same time as the health of people. We are preparing for the worst by building something much better’
Thank you @hazelsheffield for a lovely feature with many of our friends in the @guardian.

Not sure what the point is of posting other stuff while genocide in Palestine continues & most else seems so wildly insignificant. Am heads down these days to build the small parts where I might contribute to a liberated future, knowing it's nowhere near enough or proportionate
I'm a songwriter with the one-hit-wonder Pedantic About Semantics a song all about spending our days asking 'can we just discuss specifically what you/I mean by []' in deep curiosity about the life-forming moments behind all the words

On the eve of the general election, this film is an invitation to the next government to move towards the neighbourhood and street-led peoples retrofit manifesto that we need; the power of which is abundantly clear across the UK + beyond. Watch in full at: bit.ly/RetrofitReimaginedFil…

The Physical Infrastructure Design of Neighbourhood Public Square will make 3ºC Neighbourhood and Endowing The Future tangible through co-building regenerative, distributive-by-design neighbourhood civic infrastructure at the heart of Ladywood, Birmingham. bit.ly/PublicSquareDesign
Didnt make it to #nextfrontiers2024 today due to a (beautiful, heartbreaking) funeral. But am really hoping a lot of the conversations were "this is the work we have done since the 2022 conference and how we are compounding all that work to change this field" 🤞

Rafah is already under attack. There may not be a full scale invasion but massive bombs are reigning down. And Israeli evacuation orders are sending people from the north south, from the south north. There is nowhere safe to go. None.
What will remain of Gaza and of its people?
This is such a beautiful share full of wisdom. Thank you @we_are_maia (and @EmRoseBaz whose sharp insight features) for taking the time to share what you are learning and practising
As the MAIA team grows, we are considering what is required of us as individuals to cultivate a culture of care? What is required of the organisation’s infrastructure to embody care in employment, solidarity and colleagueship?

What does a 3°C warmer planet mean for your neighbourhood? 📈
This is a hugely powerful piece of research from our friends at @CIVIC_SQUARE @ImmyKaur with @DarkMatter_Labs.
🧵A short thread on what we took from it...

We're at a stage in Beyond the Rules where we are all in the richness of so much detail in a number of contexts that working out how & which bits to openly share & how (without flattening nuance) feels a bit overwhelming. Would love tips, requests, ideas of what to prioritise

Replying to @we_are_maia
@MAIA_Group is growing again. As we embark on the next work phase to build infrastructures in service of collective liberation, we'll start to implement ABUELOS, modelled on 'Grandad's house', demonstrating how we embed care & radical hospitality in each layer of the system.

Endowing The Future is a new propositional paper co-authored by @CIVIC_SQUARE + @DarkMatter_Labs, calling philanthropy to meet the moment by endowing its resources + imagination not only to avert the worst but seed just, regenerative, distributive futures bit.ly/EndowingTheFuture
I worry we spend disproportionate time in governance focusing on representation when there are such critical other factors also needed to make governance generative, inclusive and the best of us.
Some crafts that I experience/practice as critical:
5. Weaving relationships
Time and care to write up acknowledgements, considerations & hold conversations to weave back & sense make, particularly with people who strongly express need for a particular way or may disagree with the direction -to keep in relationship & move together
