It's time to fight back.
Trump’s threat of 50% tariffs is a direct attack on Canadian workers, our industries and our economy. PM should recall Parliament to pass emergency measures to protect Canadian jobs, support workers and respond with the full strength of economic tools.
Hi, I’m Annette Reilly, and I’m running for Vancouver City Council.

Open drug use continues to be pervasive in the city’s DTES, where police are directing people to the nearest overdose prevention site.

Worst is not that Montague hasn't lived or paid taxes in our city entire term, or that he lives over 400km away, or even his horrible decisions when he does show up.
Worse, as other Canadians suffer & boycott, BM was on leave from his tax-paid job to leisure in US for a month.

Still want Vancouver to be the Greenest City? Apparently, Ken Sim and ABC don't.
Saving a few bucks to the city will come at an even greater cost down the line.

ALT A white and green graphic. The top, over the white, is the logo for Canada's National Observer and the headline, "Vancouver mayor plans to eliminate city's climate and sustainability department" by Marc Fawcett-Atkinson & Natasha Bulowski from Nov. 10. On the green is a quote from Vancouver City Councillor from the Vancouver Green Party, Pete Fry, saying, "It's 100 per cent ideologically motivated. What is incredibly frustrating about this is the lack of integrity or courage for them to come out and say what it is they're intending to do. They're trying to be sneaky with this, and it will blow up in their face."

No, opposition tried to amend those revenues to prioritize public benefits.
Who trusts ABC priorities? (checks list):
Bloated mayor's office;
Buy bitcoin w/ city $;
Ban supportive housing;
Get rid of Park Board, Integrity Commissioner, renter's office, equity office;
etc.
This week, opposition councillors blocked a decision that would've unlocked 4,100+ housing units for Vancouverites while creating a new non-tax revenue source that could have gone towards funding city services and critical infrastructure.
To say their decision was shortsighted and irresponsible would be an understatement.
We won't lose sight of the important goals here. Our focus is, and will always be, on delivering housing, affordability, and fiscal responsibility for the people of Vancouver.
I don’t think I want someone in charge of city revenue that can’t even spell “services” correctly. You’d think the mayor could use some of his $1.5 million office budget for a proofreader. 😂

Last night, @ParkBoard did the right thing. Apologized to TGD2S community after emotional discussion. Shared some tears. Disavowed JKR. Will undertake concrete actions to rebuild trust.

Vancouver's @ParkBoard will be hearing an emergency motion relating to hosting the Harry Potter themed event at Stanley Park at tonight's meeting. Board meeting does not permit public speakers but you can email bit.ly/4ntvlsX and watch live approx. 10:30pm pdt
Great to see the Park Board stepping up to discuss this publicly.

The movement is growing! Stand in solidarity with the BCGEU as they fight for FAIR WAGES. The outcome of this negotiation will impact all BC workers. We must stand together if we want wages that we can live off of!

We would like to thank our wonderful volunteers, elected, board members, and, of course, the folks that visited us at @CarFreeYVR on Commercial Dr.
Despite some sudden rain, it didn't dampen anyone's spirits.
See you Sunday on Main Street!

The Van Park Board has made a misguided decision to bring a trademarked Harry Potter experience to Stanley Park this winter. As a Queer woman and a strong Trans ally, this is unacceptable. JKR pours her fortune into actively harming Trans Folks

Of all the dumb battles the Mayor has picked, his fight against integrity may be the dumbest. @PtFry nails it. @VanGreens

Pizza Garden on The Drive caught fire about 30 mins ago. Vancouver Fire Fighters were on the scene in a jiffy and seem to have it all under control.
The fumes outside were toxic. This is what @VanFireRescue subject themselves to for our safety. Thank you for your service!
Happy Labour Day! Our country would not be what it is without the labour movement. Our voices are louder together.
I am a proud member of UBCP/ACTRA, a permittee with IATSE 891, and I’m only 19 days away from being a DGC member. Yay!

So as long as the majority break the rules, everyone gets away with it. And the taxpayer will foot the bill without even knowing it.

One stranger attack is too many, and we want to ensure public safety is paramount for everyone who visits, lives & works in Vancouver, but we don’t need unnecessary fear-mongering to drive political agendas and ultimately scare people away from our city.
